In comparison to bulk sequencing or single cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics preserves the spatial information in tissue slices and can even be mapped to immunofluorescent stainings, allowing translation of gene expression information into their spatial context. This enables to unravel complex interactions of neighboring cells or to link cell morphology to transcriptome data. The 10× Genomics Visium platform offers to combine spatial transcriptomics with immunofluorescent staining of cryo-sectioned tissue slices.

An objective method to evaluate auditory brainstem-evoked responses (ABR) based on the root-mean-square (rms) amplitude of the measured signal and bootstrapping procedures was used to determine threshold curves (see Lv et al. in Med Eng Phys 29:191-198, 2007; Linnenschmidt and Wiegrebe in Hear Res 373:85-95, 2019). The lung is, more than other solid organs, susceptible for ischemia reperfusion injury after orthotopic transplantation. Corticosteroids are known to potently suppress pro-inflammatory processes when given in the post-operative setting or during rejection episodes. Whereas their use has been approved for these clinical indications, there is no study investigating its potential as a preservation additive in preventing vascular damage already in the phase of ischemia.
