- Researchers found that ozonated water (O3W) effectively inactivates various AIV subtypes (H4N8, H4N6, H9N9) on different materials, with significant reductions in viral presence after just 3 minutes of exposure.
- Although all subtypes showed susceptibility, H9N9 was the most effectively eliminated, and extending the exposure time to 10 minutes didn’t enhance the inactivation due to ozone's short lifespan; more research is needed to tackle residual viruses on surfaces.
Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) is a contagious viral disease causing massive economic loss to animal industries in endemic countries including Egypt. Although a vaccine is available, coinfections can overwhelm the animal immune system and interfere with vaccine protection. Small ruminant retrovirus (SRR), including enzootic nasal tumor virus (ENTV) and Jaagsiekte sheep retrovirus (JSRV), is responsible for coinfections with PPR.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground And Objectives: MRSA became a widely recognized cause of mortality worldwide with necessity of its epidemiological pattern study. Typing of MRSA isolates was performed molecularly based on SCC type and relation to resistance pattern was investigated.
Materials And Methods: Out of 200 clinical specimens, was detected phenotypically and confirmed as MRSA by PCR in 124 isolates obtained from associated laboratories of different hospitals of Zagazig, during 2018-2019.
