Ductal progenitor-like cells are a sub-population of ductal cells in the adult human pancreas that have the potential to contribute to regenerative medicine. However, the microenvironmental cues that regulate their activation are poorly understood. Here, we establish a 3-dimensional suspension culture system containing six defined soluble factors in which primary human ductal progenitor-like and ductal non-progenitor cells survive but do not proliferate.

Purpose Of Review: This review provides an update on the developments of adjuvant and neoadjuvant liver-directed and systemic therapy options for patients with resectable hepatocellular carcinoma.
Recent Findings: Data on liver-directed treatment in the adjuvant and neoadjuvant settings are sparse and results are conflicting; many studies suggest that optimizing patient selection criteria is a key milestone required to improve study design and clinical benefit to patients. Systemic treatment options are primarily focused on investigation of anti-PD-1/L1 immunotherapeutic agents, either alone or in combination with other drugs.
Neuroendocrine tumors are a rare type of cancer found in hormone-producing cells throughout the body. Research on disease-specific patient education assessments in this population is lacking. We previously demonstrated the feasibility and validity of NET VITALS, a patient-centered self-assessment designed to improve patients' knowledge of their neuroendocrine tumor diagnosis/treatment and facilitate communication with their physician.

Methods: In this cross-sectional survey study, NET patients attending the 2019 Annual Los Angeles NET Education Conference were approached to complete NET VITALS, a self-assessment tool gauging patients' perception/awareness of their NET diagnosis/treatment, and a satisfaction survey. Feasibility of NET VITALS, patient satisfaction with NET VITALS, and patients' perception/awareness of their NET diagnosis/treatment were evaluated.

Organoids have been developed for organs and tissues such as the liver, gut, brain, and pancreas; they are used as organ surrogates to study a wide range of questions in basic and developmental biology, genetic disorders, and therapies. However, many organoids reported to date have been cultured in Matrigel, which is prepared from the secretion of Engelbreth-Holm-Swarm mouse sarcoma cells; Matrigel is complex and poorly defined.

Additionally, studies on hMPCs have been hindered by few isolation methods that allow for the recovery of live cells. Here, we investigated the tip progenitor domain in the branched epithelium of human fetal pancreas between 13.
