The income situation and the division of labor in households, which are closely related to occupational mobility, are central aspects of the debate on gender equality. Women have shorter commuting times and distances than men and spend fewer nights away from their main place of residence for work-related reasons. Various studies attribute these gender differences to a gendered division of labor and the associated greater involvement of women in household tasks and childcare.

Pedelecs (pedal electric cycles) have become increasingly popular in recent years. This increase may trigger many positive effects, but unfortunately it also results in an increase in accidents, especially single accidents, involving these vehicles. This investigation analyses 1738 free text descriptions of pedelec single accidents written by police officers on site.

A residential location approach to traffic safety: two case studies from Germany.

This paper aims to spatially differentiate the road accident risk associated with living at a certain place of residence. Official accident data usually record the place the accident occurred, but not the casualties' places of residence. Among those involved in an accident at a certain place there may obviously be some non-residents, such as in-commuters and transients.
