Recently, Indocyanine Green (ICG)-enhanced fluorescence has been introduced in laparoscopic colorectal surgery to provide detailed anatomical informations. The aim of our study is the application of ICG imaging during laparoscopic colorectal resections: to assess anastomotic perfusion to reduce the risk of anastomotic leak, to facilitate vascular dissection when vascular anatomy of tumor site is unclear, and to identify ureter to prevent iatrogenic injury. After the transection, 5 ml of ICG solution is intravenously injected.

The patient was operated in emergency for peritonitis due to perforation of small intestine and treated with imatinib mesylate. The metastatic progression of the disease demonstrated the value of prognostic indicators (mitotic rate >10/50 high power field, necrosis and 8 cm in maximum diameter) for assessing risk of aggressive behaviour.

Extra-gastrointestinal stromal tumors (EGISTs) are neoplasms with overlapping immunohistological features, occurring in the abdomen outside the gastrointestinal tract with no connection to the gastric or intestinal wall.
Case Presentation: We here report the clinical, macroscopic and immunohistological features of an EGIST arising in the greater omentum of a 74-year-old man, with a discussion on the clinical behavior and the prognostic factors of such lesions and a comparison with the gastrointestinal counterpart.

Setting: Patients with pancreatic pseudocysts following an episode of acute pancreatitis treated from January 1980 to December 2001 at the Department of General Surgery and Organ Transplantation of the University of Parma, Italy.
Pancreatic pseudocysts are the most common lesions of the pancreas. Endoscopic and US-endoscopic techniques are today the best minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures available for this pathology. From January 1980 to December 2001 we observed a total of 74 patients with pancreatic pseudocysts secondary to acute pancreatitis.
