Study Question: What are the reproductive experiences of women who cryopreserve oocytes for non-medical reasons?

Summary Answer: One in three women had been pregnant at some stage in their lives and while most still wanted to have a child or another child, very few had used their stored oocytes, predominantly because they did not want to be single parents.

What Is Known Already: The number of healthy women who freeze oocytes to avoid age-related infertility is increasing. Evidence about reproductive outcomes after oocyte cryopreservation for non-medical reasons is needed to help women make informed decisions.

The optimization of a novel series of non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTI) led to the identification of pyridone 36. In cell cultures, this new NNRTI shows a superior potency profile against a range of wild type and clinically relevant, resistant mutant HIV viruses. The overall favorable preclinical pharmacokinetic profile of 36 led to the prediction of a once daily low dose regimen in human.

Antagonists to the human metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype 5a(mGluR(5a)) have been implicated as potential therapeutics for the treatment of a variety of nervous system disorders, including pain, anxiety, and Parkinson's disease. To discover novel antagonists to the mGluR(5a), a functional assay measuring agonist-induced intracellular calcium release was developed. The assay was used for the high-throughput screening of a large collection of compounds in single wells using a fully automated robotic platform.
