Objectives: To evaluate the loss of crestal bone height around dental implants placed in various tissue biotypes.

Materials And Methods: 20 patients with single edentulous sites were allocated randomly, with 10 samples in each into Group I (implants were placed in thick tissue biotype) and Group II (implants were placed in thin tissue biotype). Baseline cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) was performed after implant placement in both groups, and follow-up CBCT was taken at the time of cementation prior to occlusal loading to assess the crestal bone loss around the mesial and distal side of implants in both groups.

Dynamic regulation of phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of histones is essential for eukaryotic transcription, but the enzymes engaged in histone dephosphorylation are not fully explored. Here, we show that the tyrosine phosphatase SHP-1 dephosphorylates histone H2B and plays a critical role during transition from the initiation to the elongation stage of transcription. Nuclear-localized SHP-1 is associated with the Paf1 complex at chromatin and dephosphorylates H2B at tyrosine 121.

Tyrosine phosphatases play a critical role in many cellular processes and pathogenesis, yet comprehensive analysis of their functional interacting proteins in the cell is limited. By utilizing a proteomic approach, here we present an interaction network of 81 human tyrosine phosphatases built on 1884 high-confidence interactions of which 85% are unreported. Our analysis has linked several phosphatases with new cellular processes and unveiled protein interactions genetically linked to various human diseases including cancer.

One of the most common causes of death in influenza patients is secondary bacterial pneumonia and the most common pathogens involved are Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, and Haemophilus influenza. To diagnose co infection with bacteria in a H1N1 case can be difficult but should be strongly suspected in a child who present with influenza like illness and lower respiratory tract signs or symptoms. We report coinfection of Mycoplasma pneumoniae in swine influenza A H1N1 child who presented with extensive pneumonia and expired within 48 hours.

Background: An increased inclination has been observed for the use of herbal drugs in chronic and incurable diseases. Solid dispersions of mefanamic acid with a water-soluble polymer polyvinyl pyrrolidine and a super disintegrant, primojel were prepared by common solvent and solvent evaporation methods employing methanol as the solvent. The dissolution rate and dissolution efficiency of the prepared solid dispersions were evaluated in comparison to the corresponding pure drug. Solid dispersions of mefenamic acid showed a marked enhancement in dissolution rate and dissolution efficiency.

The phase solubility studies indicated the formation of celecoxib-HPbetaCD inclusion complexes at a 1:1M ratio in solution in both the presence and the absence of hydrophilic polymers.
