Article Synopsis
  • The study focused on the link between occupational exposure and laryngeal cancer, aiming to determine how different work environments contribute to the illness.
  • Results showed significantly higher risks for laryngeal cancer among workers in the building (OR=4.621) and mechanical industry sectors (OR=5.074), along with strong associations with exposure to carcinogens like asbestos and cement dust.
  • The findings suggest a need for more research to better understand how specific occupational exposures influence the development of laryngeal cancer, with particular emphasis on isolating individual risk factors.

Isolated arterial dissection without aortic pathology has been rarely reported in mesenteric vessels. The natural history and appropriate treatment for this disease is uncertain because of the scarcity of literature which limits the data available to the clinician, resulting in management challenges. Herein, we report a rare case of a 42-year-old Tunisian man with spontaneous dissection and aneurysmal dilatation of the Celiac Artery (CA) and the Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA) with partial thrombosis.

Olive oil mill wastewater (OMWW) generated by the olive oil extraction industry constitutes a major pollutant, causing a severe environmental threats because of the high chemical oxygen demand and the high content of polyphenol. This work studied a combined process of absorption on sawdust, a low-cost renewable absorbents, and an energetic valorisation via combustion was studied. The thermal behaviour of different OMWW/sawdust blends was studied under inert and oxidative atmosphere from 20 to 900 degrees C using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
