Developing precious metal-free catalysts for organic reactions under mild conditions is urgent. Herein, we report a three-dimensional covalent organic framework (3D-COF) with high crystallinity and permanent pores, termed 3D-TABPA-COF, for the oxidation of tetrahydroquinoline to quinoline. The 3D-TABPA-COF assembled based on ,-bis(4'-amino-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl)-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diamine (TABPA) is the catalytic active center for the conversion of tetrahydroquinoline.

Article Synopsis
  • Ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) is more common in East Asian women and has worse outcomes compared to high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC), partly due to resistance to chemotherapy.
  • Whole-exome sequencing of 102 OCCC samples revealed frequent mutations in ARID1A (67%) and PIK3CA (49%), with 40% of cases showing clinically actionable targets like BRCA2 and PIK3CA.
  • Clonal evolution studies indicated that early driving mutations in tumor development include ARID1A, PIK3CA, TERT, KRAS, and TP53, while specific mutations in the TERT gene were linked to poorer prognosis.

Cervical cancer is a significant public health concern, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where resources for prevention and treatment are limited. Routine screening, such as the Papanicolaou test (Pap smears) and human papillomavirus (HPV) testing, plays a crucial role in the early detection and prevention of cervical cancer. However, the participation rate in cervical cancer screening programs remains below optimal levels due to various factors.

Ovarian cancer, notable for its severe prognosis among gynecologic cancers, has seen substantial progress in treatment approaches recently. Enhanced protocols in chemotherapy and the introduction of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors for maintenance therapy have markedly improved outcomes for patients with specific genetic profiles, such as those positive for BRCA mutations or exhibiting homologous recombination deficiency (HRD). Additionally, the method of intraperitoneal chemotherapy administration has emerged as a valuable alternative to traditional transvenous routes, showing promise for wider clinical adoption.

Current tools are insufficient for distinguishing patients with ovarian cancer from those with benign ovarian lesions before extensive surgery. The present study utilized a readily accessible platform employing a negative selection strategy, followed by flow cytometry, to enumerate circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in patients with ovarian cancer. These counts were compared with those from patients with benign ovarian lesions.

This study investigated miRNA and cytokine expression changes in peritoneal fluid samples of patients with advanced ovarian cancer (OVCA) after receiving hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) during cytoreduction surgery (CRS). We collected samples prior to HIPEC, immediately after HIPEC, and 24/48/72 h after CRS from a total of 6 patients. Cytokine levels were assessed using a multiplex cytokine array, and a miRNA PanelChip Analysis System was used for miRNA detection.

Objective: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a dramatic drop in in-person residency training due to the implementation of isolation and triage measurements. Here, we propose a new flipped classroom clinical skill training model utilizing a combination of pre-workshop, web-based learning and hands-on workshop that shortens in-person contact time to maintain residency training during the pandemic. Effectiveness of this training model was evaluated with a pre-test and post-test skills competency assessment, two-way feedback, and a five-point Likert scale structured survey questionnaire.
