Background Context: Osteoporosis frequently occurs in elderly people and is commonly associated with neuromuscular diseases or severe cerebral palsy. Osteoporosis can cause pain via compression fractures or secondary neurologic deficits; thus, accurate evaluation of bone mineral density (BMD) is essential for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. However, spinal axial rotation caused by scoliosis may affect the outcome of BMD tests, such that BMD measurements may be significantly greater than actual BMD in patients with severe scoliosis of the spine.

Therefore, independent verification of the Leksell GammaPlan® (LGP) is important for ensuring patient safety and minimizing the risk of treatment errors. Although several verification techniques have been previously developed and reported, no method has ever been tested statistically on multiple LGK target treatments.

Background: To summarize our results of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for prostate adenocarcinoma after cryotherapy failure.
Materials And Methods: Patients underwent IMRT with curative intent for biochemically recurrent prostate cancer after cryotherapy. Radiation was delivered to a minimum dose of 72 Gy (range, 72-81 Gy).
Background And Purpose: Previous studies of male breast cancer have suggested that due to the lack of breast tissue, post-mastectomy radiation should be routinely utilized in all stages of this disease. We propose that the pattern of local recurrence in male breast cancer is, stage for stage, similar to female breast cancer and, therefore, the indications for post-mastectomy radiation should be similar.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 44 cases of male breast cancer from 1967 to 1995.
