Objective: The unilateral biportal endoscopic posterior cervical foraminotomy (UBE-PCF) has been recently adopted for unilateral radiating arm pain due to cervical herniated intervertebral disc or foraminal stenosis. We systematically meta-analyzed clinical outcomes and complications of the UBE-PCF and compared them with those of full-endoscopic PCF (FE-PCF).

The goal of a spine surgery is to achieve adequate neural tissue decompression, maintenance of spinal stability, and successful stabilization of an unstable spine. To achieve these surgical goals, damage to normal tissues, including the spinal column and surrounding soft tissues, is inevitable after the beginning of a spine surgery. Extensive damage to normal spinal column and paraspinal collateral tissues during operation can lead to unsuccessful outcomes due to persistent axial pain and additional surgeries due to occurrence of spinal instability.

We examine the effect of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress inhibitor treatment time on the development of porcine somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) embryos. Porcine SCNT embryos were classified by four groups following treatment time of ER stress inhibitor, tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA; 100 μM); 1) non-treatment group (control), 2) treatment during micromanipulation process and for 3 h after fusion (NT+3 h group), 3) treatment only during culture after fusion (IVC group), and 4) treatment during micromanipulation process and culture (NT+IVC group). SCNT embryos were cultured for six days to examine the X-box binding protein 1 () splicing levels, the expression levels of ER stress-associated genes, oxidative stress-related genes, and apoptosis-related genes in blastocysts, and development.

This study investigated the changes in the mRNA expression of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β), plasminogen activators (PAs), and interleukin (IL) caused by sperm, as well as the regulatory mechanism of PA activity through TGF-β, in porcine uterine epithelial cells. The cells were isolated from the uterine horn of pig and co-incubated with Percoll-separated boar sperm (45% or 90%), or TGF-β for 24 h.
