Background/aim: Breast cancer is the most predominant type of cancer affecting women worldwide and the current therapeutic treatment for breast cancer patients is not adequately effective. This study aimed to investigate the mechanism of 17-AAG, a heat shock protein (HSP90) inhibitor, as a treatment for inducing breast cancer cell apoptosis.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) progression is strongly influenced by the tumor microenvironment (TME) in which cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are the major components influencing CRC growth and progression. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of YAP on F-actin arrangement in CAF transformation and the possibility of using YAP as a target for inhibiting CRC growth and progression.
