Background: Previous evidence showed a possible link of dyslipidemia with bone health. Nevertheless, the correlation of remnant cholesterol (RC) with bone mineral density (BMD) has yet to be well investigated. This study investigated the association of RC with total spine BMD in general Americans.

Retinal arteriolar morphometry has emerged as the most convenient and fundamental clinical methodology in the realm of patient screening and diagnosis. Nevertheless, the analysis of retinal arterioles is challenging attributable to imaging noise, stochastic fuzzy characteristics, and blurred boundaries proximal to blood vessels.

Epichlorohydrin was used as a crosslinking agent to prepare CMC gel, simultaneously introducing chlorine-containing branch chains as Cl reservoir to deposit AgCl. The composite gels presented pH responsive swelling properties, with the minimum swelling ratio at pH 8 and pH 4 for CMC gels containing Ag/AgCl and ZnO, respectively.

However, few studies have investigated the changes in osteokines and adipomyokines induced by exercise during severe cold and their corresponding associations. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the changes in sclerostin and meteorin-like (metrnl) protein before and after cold exercise (ice swimming [IS]) and observe their correlation.

Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of minimally invasive safe approach of the knee joint in the treatment of avulsion fractures of the tibial insertion of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).
Methods: The clinical data of 26 patients with avulsion fractures of tibial insertion of PCL treated with open reduction and internal fixation via minimally invasive safe approach of the knee joint between February 2019 and March 2022 were analyzed retrospectively. There were 18 males and 8 females with an average age of 45.
The beneficial effects of biochar addition during composting have been proved for many feedstocks, like manures and crop straws. However, the effect of biochar on the quality of composting product with seaweed as the feedstock and the bacterial response has not been investigated. In this study, the wheat straw biochar addition on the quality of the composting product and the bacterial response was explored at the rate of 0-10%.

Oxathiapiprolin is a piperidinyl thiazole isoxazoline fungicide that shows excellent control effect against oomycete fungal diseases, including late blight, downy mildew, root rot, stem rot, and blight. Though it can exist stably in the soil for a long time, its effects on soil microbial structure and diversity are not well investigated.

Cotton is one of the most important cellulose fibers, but the absence of antimicrobial capacity along with the self-cleaning, UV protection and electric conductivity often frustrates its wider applications in many fields. Nanotechnology has provided new insights into the development of functional nanomaterials with unique chemical and physical properties. Silver has been effectively incorporated into the cotton fabrics as the antimicrobial agents due to the strong inhibitory and antimicrobial effects on a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi and virus with low toxicity to human being.

It is regarded as a significant milestone in the history of fungicide discoveries and has vast application prospects. There is little available information on the ecotoxicity of Otp to aquatic organisms.

The results showed that the addition of Bacillus subtilis and fermentation bacteria significantly increased the NH-N, bacterial abundance and fungal diversity of compost while decreasing the relative abundances (RAs) of carbon metabolism genes in mature compost. NH-N was significantly correlated with microbial abundance and diversity, and its increase was closely related to microbial amino acid metabolism.

In view of the above, we present a streamlined mechanical semi-active heave compensation system (MSAHC) in this study. This system consists of active compensation part with the pinion and rack and passive compensation part.
