The cyclization of di-(2,6-difluorophenyl)maleindinitrile with magnesium(II) and zinc(II) acetates in boiling ethylene glycol is applied to synthesize Mg(II) and Zn(II) complexes of the octa-(2,6-difluorophenyl)tetraazaporphyrin. The compounds are identified by UV-Vis, H NMR, and mass spectrometry methods. A comparative analysis is performed of the spectral-luminescent properties of magnesium and zinc octaaryltetraazaporphyrinates and their dependence on the number and position of the fluorine atoms in the macrocycle phenyl fragments.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major public health problem. Here, we developed a novel model of non-invasive TBI induced by laser irradiation in the telencephalon of adult zebrafish (Danio rerio) and assessed their behavior and neuromorphology to validate the model and evaluate potential targets for neuroreparative treatment. Overall, TBI induced hypolocomotion and anxiety-like behavior in the novel tank test, strikingly recapitulating responses in mammalian TBI models, hence supporting the face validity of our model.

Zn(II)-octa-(4-chlorophenyl)- and Zn(II)-octa-(4-bromophenyl)tetraazaporphyrins were synthesized by the reaction of cyclotetramerization of di-(4-chlorophenyl)- and di-(4-bromophenyl)maleonitriles with zinc(II) chloride. The obtained compounds were identified by UV-vis, IR, NMR H spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Geometry optimization of the series of halogenated Zn(II)-octaaryltetraazaporphyrins was performed using the density functional method with the BP86 functional and the def2-TZVP basis set.

Cyclolinear organocarbosiloxane polymers with varying content and location of (CH2)n groups in the monomer unit were synthesized by reactions of heterofunctional polycondensation and polyaddition of difunctional organocyclosiloxanes and organocyclocarbosiloxanes. Their bulk properties were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray structural analysis. It was shown that on introduction of CH2 groups into the methylcyclohexasiloxane unit, the polymer retains the ability to self-organize with formation of a mesomorphic state in a wide temperature range, while on introduction of (CH2)2 fragments in a cyclotetrasiloxane unit or in a bridge connecting two methylcyclotetra(hexa)siloxane units it does not.

Kanamycin B content in kanamycin preparations was determined with column chromatography and PMR spectroscopy. It was shown that coincidence of the results obtained with both the procedures in analysis of the preparations subjected to additional recrystallization was satisfactory. With the use of nonrecrystallized preparations the admixtures interfered with the results in using the developed procedure.

Mixed muscles of adult frogs respond to the increase in external potassium and to Ach by polyphasic contracture which is due to asynchronous activity of various groups of muscle fibers (fast phasic, intermediate and tonic ones). In the developing in vivo hindlimb muscles, the predominance of phasic contractile response and relatively weak tonic one were noted. In contrast to definitive muscles, in which maximum potassium and acetylcholine contractures are identical, growing muscles produce weak contractile reaction to Ach.

On 15 skeletal muscles with different functional profile (flexors and extensors, trunk muscles and muscles of the head) and different embryonic origin (somatic and visceral), it has been shown that muscles of R. temporaria are mixed. Muscle fibers are divided into three groups which differ in the content of lipids, the activity of succinic dehydrogenase and localization of myofibrils on a cross section.

By means of histochemical and microelectrophysiological methods, fibers of the eye inferior rectus muscle of the frog were divided into types with phasic, tonic (two types), and transitional (two types) signs. Electric activity of the muscle in situ reveals presence of phasic, transitional, and tonic fibers in the given object (the tonic fibers being characterized by a wide range of the PSP parameters).
