Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate patient and breast MRI characteristics associated with noncompliance with recommended follow-up after MRI-guided core needle biopsy of suspicious breast lesions.

Rationale And Objectives: Tumor volume is one of the most important factors in evaluating the response to treatment of patients with cancer. The objective of this study was to compare computed tomographic (CT) volume calculation using a semiautomated circumscribing tracing tool (manual circumscription [MC]) to prolate ellipsoid volume calculation (PEVC; bidimensional measurement multiplied by coronal long axis) and determine which was more accurate and consistent.

Purpose: To retrospectively determine, by using thin-section multi-detector row computed tomography (CT), whether additional reformations in the planes of Stenver and Pöschl change the diagnostic interpretation for superior semicircular canal dehiscence (SSCD) when compared with the diagnostic interpretation of standard coronal reformations for SSCD.

Materials And Methods: Institutional review board approval was obtained, patient anonymity was maintained, and the study was HIPAA compliant. Twenty-seven patients (17 men, 10 women; average age, 45 years; range, 19-72 years) suspected of having SSCD who underwent temporal bone multi-detector row CT were retrospectively identified from electronic medical records.

Positron emission tomography (PET) has become a critical diagnostic tool in the discovery and staging of malignancies in the head and neck. Although PET is accurate for detecting cancer, increased 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake can be seen in healthy tissues such as muscle, fat, and glands and uptake can be seen in tissues affected by inflammation or granulomatous disease. Combined PET and CT (PET/CT) can often overcome these difficulties by fusing anatomic and physiological data, but radiographic findings of some disease processes can be confusing even with fused imaging techniques.

Transgenic mice are widely used to study cardiac function, but strain-dependent differences in autonomic nervous system activity (ANSA) have not been explored. We compared 1) short-term pharmacological responses of cardiac rhythm in FVB vs. C57Black6/SV129 wild-type mice and 2) long-term physiological dynamics of cardiac rhythm and survival in tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha transgenic mice with heart failure (TNF-alpha mice) on defined backgrounds.
