Advance care planning (ACP) has the potential to improve the outcomes of end-of-life care for residents in nursing homes. The aim of this study was to determine whether an ACP program was beneficial for nursing home residents by assessing end-of-life indicators. [Role Function and Policy Prospects of Long-Term Care Nurses in Taiwan: Evidence-Based Policy Recommendations of Professional Nursing Organizations].

Professional nursing organizations represent an important channel for the nursing profession to influence health policy, represent and protect the interests of nurses, and advocate for the further development of the profession. Facing the rapidly increasing aging population and emerging needs of long-term care in Taiwan, the Taiwan Nurses Association launched an integrated project to propose policy advice on the development of nursing in long-term care. In this paper, the relevant findings in the domestic and foreign literature are summarized to better define the role function and core competence of long-term care nurses.

In vivo magnetic resonance imaging of mice liver tumors using a new gadolinium-based contrast agent.

Development of a Gd(III)-based receptor-induced magnetization enhancement (RIME) contrast agent for β-glucuronidase activity profiling.

β-Glucuronidase is a key lysosomal enzyme and is often overexpressed in necrotic tumor masses. We report here the synthesis of a pro receptor-induced magnetization enhancement (pro-RIME) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent ([Gd(DOTA-FPβGu)]) for molecular imaging of β-glucuronidase activity in tumor tissues. Quantification of choline compounds in human hepatic tumors by proton MR spectroscopy at 3 T.

The quantification of choline-containing compounds (Cho) in hepatic tumors by (1)H MR spectroscopy (MRS) is of great interest because such compounds have been linked to malignancy. In this study, a practical external phantom replacement method for the absolute quantification of hepatic metabolites is demonstrated.
