Acaricidal effects of fenvalerate and cypermethrin against Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) annulatus.

The acaricidal effects of two most commonly used acaricides viz., fenvalerate and cypermethrin against Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) annulatus were studied using Adult Immersion Test (AIT). The LC50 values observed for fenvalerate and cypermethrin were 1570 ppm and 184 ppm respectively.

Two cases of a rare treatable limb girdle muscle disease.

We report two cases of limb girdle pattern of muscle weakness caused by hyperparathyroidism due to parathyroid adenoma. It can be easily missed as early symptoms are non specific but once diagnosed it is easily treatable and complete recovery occurs over a period of time.
