View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe report a 65-year-old woman with a chronic hepatitis C virus infection who developed pulmonary extranodal marginal zone lymphoma (EMZL) of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissues complicated with macroglobulinemia and mixed cryoglobulinemia. She was treated with immunochemotherapy which resulted in the reduction of both the tumors and the serum immunoglobulin (Ig) M level. This case exemplifies an extensive stimulation upon immune system with derangement in the production of immunoglobulines associated with EMZL, and suggests that it is necessary to consider the possibility of B-cell lymphoma when IgM paraprotein is detected.
