Objectives: Preoperative embolization of hypervascular spinal metastases (HSM) is efficient to reduce perioperative bleeding. However, intra-arterial digital subtraction angiography (IA-DSA) must confirm the hypervascular nature and rule out spinal cord arterial feeders. This study aimed to evaluate the reliability and accuracy of time-resolved contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (TR-CE-MRA) in assessing HSM prior to embolization.

Objectives: Vertebral augmentation (VA) has become routinely used in vertebral compression fractures (VCFs). VCFs are often associated with posterior wall protrusions (PWPs), which theoretically contraindicates vertebroplasty due to a higher risk of neurological complications. The latest generation of VA devices uses intravertebral cranio-caudal expandable implants to improve the correction of structural deformities but could also be used to prevent further PWP during cement injection.

Background: Osteolytic lesions of the atlas (C1) are challenging to treat by vertebroplasty due to the vicinity of the vertebral artery and the spinal cord.

Objective: To present our experience with transoral vertebroplasty (TOV) for osteolytic lesions of the lateral mass of the atlas.

Methods: Retrospective case series involving 15 consecutive patients (nine male, six female, mean age 63 years) who underwent TOV for the treatment of an osteolytic lesion of the lateral mass of the atlas.

Purpose: Non-traumatic acute subdural hematomas (SDH) are rare and have seldom been reported in ruptured brain arteriovenous malformations (BAVM). The aim of this study was to report the frequency of acute SDH in BAVM-related hemorrhage and to determine the relationship of SDHs with BAVM angioarchitectural features.

Methods: This was a retrospective monocentric study of patients admitted for BAVM rupture between 2003 and 2017.

Objectives: Osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs) are an important health issue for which minimally invasive techniques are a feasible treatment. The SpineJack® (Vexim) is an intravertebral expandable system designed to improve the correction of the structural modifications caused by OVCFs. Its ability to stabilise and reduce OVCFs at the acute phase being already well established, we sought to evaluate the feasibility of vertebral augmentation with the SpineJack® in chronic kyphotic OVCFs.

Background: Brain arteriovenous malformations (BAVMs) are a leading cause of intracranial hemorrhage in young adults. This study aimed to identify individual predictive factors of early rebleeding after BAVM rupture and determine its impact on prognosis.

Methods: Early rebleeding was defined as a spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage within 30 days of BAVM rupture in patients with nonobliterated BAVMs.

Interventional radiology plays a significant role in the treatment of bone metastases by various techniques, percutaneous or endovascular. Vertebroplasty is the most well-studied technique for stabilisation of spine metastases as it induces satisfactory stabilisation of the vertebra and offers clear improvement of the quality of life. Due to the success of this technique cementoplasty of other bones, mainly pelvic girdle, has been largely developed.

Purpose: Most recent guidelines recommend the use of stent retriever devices in endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke with large vessel occlusion (LVO). Recently published data reported convincing results with thromboaspiration devices such as the Penumbra System (Penumbra, Alameda, CA, USA) combined with supple reperfusion catheters by using the ADAPT (A Direct Aspiration First-Pass Thrombectomy) technique. The aim of this study was to report our initial experience with the 3MAX (3.

Object: The anterior choroidal artery (AChoA) is a rare location for intracranial aneurysms. The treatment of these aneurysms may be challenging due to the risk of occlusion of such a small and eloquent artery as the AChoA. We aimed to evaluate the risk factors for complications in AChoA aneurysm treatment.

Objectives: In long bones, cementoplasty alone does not provide sufficient stability, which may cause secondary fractures. This study reviewed the safety and efficacy of reinforced cementoplasty (RC) (percutaneous internal fixation using dedicated spindles combined with cementoplasty) for unstable malignant lesions of the cervicotrochanteric region (CTR) of the proximal femur.

Methods: Eighteen consecutive patients (nine women [50%] and nine men [50%]; mean age 55.

OBJECTIVE The authors aimed to design a score for stratifying patients with brain arteriovenous malformation (BAVM) rupture, based on the likelihood of a poor long-term neurological outcome. METHODS The records of consecutive patients with BAVM hemorrhagic events who had been admitted over a period of 11 years were retrospectively reviewed. Independent predictors of a poor long-term outcome (modified Rankin Scale score ≥ 3) beyond 1 year after admission were identified.

Transverse-sigmoid dural arteriovenous fistulas (TS DAVFs) can be challenging to treat by endovascular means. Indeed, a total cure of the fistula can only be achieved when complete occlusion of the fistulous point(s) is obtained by penetration of the embolic agent. However, in some cases, especially for transosseous branches from extracranial arteries like the occipital artery (OcA) or the superficial temporal artery (STA), such penetration is usually poor, leading to major proximal reflux and incomplete fistula obliteration.
