Early and midterm results of Cook Formula stent in children with right heart disease: A single-center experience.

Background: Branch pulmonary artery (PA) stenosis must be addressed early to prevent right ventricular scarring and establish lung blood flow. Balloon-mounted stents are more useful in managing right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) obstruction and PA stenosis.

Materials And Methods: We studied the clinical and angiographic data of children with congenital heart disease who underwent stenting for RVOT obstruction and branch PA stenosis using the Formula stent (Cook Medical, Limerick, Ireland) between 2018 and 2024 in a tertiary pediatric cardiac center in southern India.

Rapid snare sliding technique: An easy approach to difficult percutaneous transmitral commissurotomy.

Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is a major health hazard in most developing countries as well as sporadically in developed economies with high prevalence rates. Mitral stenosis is among the important morbid valvular conditions accounting for 25% of RHD cases. Percutaneous transmitral commissurotomy (PTMC) using Inoue balloon is the standard treatment for severe mitral stenosis with favorable Wilkins score.

Testicular swelling with pneumonia and septicaemia: a rare presentation of right-sided endocarditis.

As far as we are aware, right-sided bacterial endocarditis has not previously been described as presenting with systemic illness and testicular swelling. We report a teenager who presented with this unusual combination as a consequence of right-sided endocarditis. He presented with high fever, with chills and rigor, along with painful enlargement of the left testicle, a productive cough with progressive breathlessness, and joint pains.
