Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of Topical Oxygen Jet Therapy (TOJT) in the treatment of surgical wounds in adult patients who has clinical signs of infection for over 30 days; and to identify the pathogens causing complicated skin and soft tissue infections.

Method: Parallel, randomized clinical trials randomly divided into "Control Group" (CG) and "Treatment Group" (TG), which were followed up for 10 consecutive days. Venous antibiotics and dressings were used in both groups.

Purpose: Many authors have described clinicopathologic parameters as factors related to cervical lymph node metastasis development in N0 stage lip cancer. However, predictive factors for occult lymph node metastasis and criteria for elective neck dissection, especially for early tumour, remain undefined.

Methods: A multi-institutional study with 193 consecutive patients with early lip SCC treated from January 1990 to March 2006 was carried out retrospectively to determine factors predicting occult metastasis.

Background: Adolescents require at least 60 minutes of daily moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity (PA) for optimum health benefits. Reduced active and increased sedentary time can adversely affect health independently. This study investigated the sedentary behavior and physical activity patterns of Singaporean adolescents.

The purpose of this study was to investigate cyclobenzaprine pharmacokinetics and to evaluate bioequivalence between two different tablet formulations containing the drug. An open, randomized, crossover, single-dose, two-period, and two-sequence design was employed. Tablets were administered to 23 healthy subjects after an overnight fasting and blood samples were collected up to 240 hours after drug administration.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the adverse drug reactions (ADRs) reported by patients and to identify drug-drug interactions (DDIs) among human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) patients.

Subjects And Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Medication Therapy Adherence Clinic, Hospital Sungai Buloh, an HIV/AIDS referral centre. The patients were randomly selected and were encouraged to describe ADRs caused specifically by any of the prescribed antiretroviral drugs (ARDs).

Fulleroisoquinolinones have been synthesized by palladium-catalyzed annulation of N-alkyl benzamides with C(60). A device incorporating fulleroisoquinolinones and the conjugated polymer P3HT exhibited power conversion efficiency up to 2.3% under AM 1.

We investigate the morphological and performance of organic photovoltaics based on blended films of alternating poly(thiophene-phenylene-thiophene) and [6,6]-phenyl-C(71)-butyric acid methyl ester (PC(71)BM). The resulting fine-scale phase separation leads to enhanced performance and the highest power efficiency (6.4% under AM 1.

We have used ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy to investigate the energy-level and band alignment near the anode for poly(3-hexylthiophene)/[6,6]-phenyl-C(61)-butyric acid methyl ester (P3HT/PCBM)-based organic solar cells. Analysis of various batches of indium-tin oxide (ITO) revealed that the photoresist residues had a strong effect, reducing the work functions of ITO (Phi(ITO)) by as much as 0.61 eV.

Pneumococcal (Pnc) carriage is associated with pneumococcal diseases. Breast feeding and maternal vaccination may be a useful approach to prevent pneumococcal infection in young infants. We examined the risk of Pnc carriage by infants at six months of age after pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccination of pregnant women.

Unlabelled: Presbycusis, or the aging ear, involves mainly the inner ear and the cochlear nerve, causing sensorineural hearing loss. Risk factors include systemic diseases and poor habits that cause inner ear damage and lead to presbycusis. Correct identification of these risk factors is relevant for prevention.

Two low-bandgap (LGB) conjugated polymers ( P1 and P2) based on thiophene-phenylene-thiophene (TPT) with adequate energy levels have been designed and synthesized for application in bulk-heterojunction polymer solar cells (PSCs). The absorption spectral, electrochemical, field effect hole mobility and photovoltaic properties of LGB TPT derivatives are investigated and compared with poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT). Photophysical studies reveal bandgaps of 1.
