In comparison to monolithic perovskite/perovskite double-junction solar cells, a four-terminal spectrum-splitting system is a simple method to obtain a higher power conversion efficiency (PCE) because it has no constraints of unifying the structures of the top and bottom cells. In this work, utilizing the fact that low-bandgap Sn-Pb bottom cells work the best in p-i-n while Pb-based wide-bandgap top cells work better in an n-i-p architecture, a wide-bandgap ( = 1.61 eV) perovskite solar cell with a mesoscopic structure and a narrow-bandgap ( = 1.

A magnesium potassium phosphate hydrate-based flame-retardant coating (MKPC) is formulated by dead-burnt magnesium oxide (magnesia) and potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH2PO4), behaving as a matrix. Constituents of the MKPC include wollastonite, vermiculite, aluminum fluoride, aluminum trihydroxide, and calcium carbonate. Some of the ingredients inter-react to produce mullite whiskers at high temperatures, despite an acid-base hydration induced reaction between magnesia and KH2PO4.

Metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) is an aggressive and fatal disease with a median survival of 36 months. With the advent of genetic sequencing to identify individual genomic profiles and acquired tumor-specific pathways, targeted therapies have revolutionized cancer treatment, including the treatment strategy in mCRPC. Poly(adenosine 5'-diphosphate) ribose polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) are oral drugs that target mutations in the homologous recombination repair (HRR) pathway, which are found in approximately 27% of prostate cancer patients.

Article Synopsis
  • Immunotherapy has become a standard treatment for certain advanced gastric cancers, but its effectiveness in resectable cases is still uncertain.
  • A case study is presented where a man with resectable gastric cancer, characterized as microsatellite stable but positive for PD-L1 and Epstein-Barr Virus, received neoadjuvant treatment with pembrolizumab and capecitabine, largely due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The patient experienced a complete response with no signs of disease afterward, suggesting that combining immunotherapy and chemotherapy could be a promising approach for treating resectable gastric cancer and highlighting the need for more research in this area.

A sodium chloride modification was applied where different amounts of sodium chloride was physically blended in a tin oxide colloid solution to passivate the interface between the electron transport layer (ETL) and perovskite layer and improve the performance of perovskite solar cells. Sodium chloride-modified tin oxide was utilized as the electron transport material to fabricate perovskite solar cells. It was found that sodium chloride-modified tin oxide as an ETL could considerably enhance the performance of the device compared to pristine tin oxide.

The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of organic-inorganic lead halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has exceeded 25%, approaching the best record of their silicon counterpart. However, lifetime issues still stand between PSCs and the goal of mass commercialization. For instance, most photoactive perovskites are hydrophilic, and moisture can quickly turn some of their constituents to compounds yielding trap states.

Two diamines, bis[4-(4-(4-aminophenoxy)-2--butylphenoxy)phenyl] sulfone (PSNH) and 4,4'-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)-2--butylphenoxy)perfluorobiphenyl (PFNH), were prepared from 3--butyl-4-hydroxyanisole using a four-step procedure, including two nucleophilic substitutions, demethylation, and catalytic reduction. On the basis of PSNH and PFNH, two series of low dielectric polyetherimides (PEIs) were prepared. Both series of PEIs exhibit moderate-to-high thermal properties, including a glass transition temperature ( ) > 259 °C (depending on the rigidity of dianhydride), a 5 wt % decomposition temperature ( ) > 496 °C, and a coefficient of thermal expansion < 66 ppm/°C.

Background The computed tomography angiography (CTA) spot sign represents active contrast extravasation within acute primary intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and is an independent predictor of hematoma expansion (HE) and poor clinical outcomes. The spot sign could be detected on first-pass CTA (fpCTA) or delayed CTA (dCTA). Purpose To investigate the additional benefits of dCTA spot sign in primary ICH and hematoma size for predicting spot sign.

Rice bran lectins, named as RBA1 and RBA2, were isolated from in two chromatography steps: affinity chromatography and cation-exchange chromatography. RBA1 was found to be composed of a covalently linked heterodimer of 20- and 12-kDa subunits, and RBA2 was a noncovalently linked dimer of 12-kDa subunits. Both RBA1 and RBA2 bound to desialylated complex glycoproteins such as fetuin, α1-acid glycoprotein, and transferrin, and agalactosylated complex glycoproteins such as agalacto fetuin, agalacto-α1-acid glycoprotein, and agalacto-transferrin, in addition to chitooligosacchrides.
