Importance: Patients with a primary cutaneous melanoma (PCM) are at increased risk of developing a second primary melanoma (SPM). Earlier stage at diagnosis is associated with better 5-year mortality, yet low compliance with recommended follow-up after treatment for PCM and high rates of patients lost to follow-up are reported in the literature. Strategies to enhance population-based surveillance for SPM have not been well described.

In this case report, we describe how point of care ultrasound (POCUS) was utilized by emergency providers to characterize a lung abscess diagnosed in a pediatric patient. We also compare the ultrasound findings to other imaging studies.

However, macrophages in sensory organs such as the cochlea where the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system meet remain understudied. Combining single-cell transcriptomics, fate mapping, and parabiosis experiments, we show that five types of myeloid cells including three tissue-resident macrophage subpopulations, coexist in the mouse cochlea.

This is the largest international collaboration to date that will develop algorithms to predict trajectories and outcomes of individuals at clinical high risk (CHR) for psychosis and to advance the development and use of novel pharmacological interventions for CHR individuals. We present a description of the participating research networks and the data processing analysis and coordination center, their processes for data harmonization across 43 sites from 13 participating countries (recruitment across North America, Australia, Europe, Asia, and South America), data flow and quality assessment processes, data analyses, and the transfer of data to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Data Archive (NDA) for use by the research community.

In this study, we aimed to address this issue. Methods Fugitive emissions of aerosolized saline during nebulization were observed using a standard jet nebulizer fitted with unfiltered and filtered mouthpieces connected via a mannequin to a breathing simulator.

Methods: Rheumatology therapists, following vocational rehabilitation (VR) training, assessed participants in the WORKWELL VR trial using the WES-RC. Data were extracted from the WES-RC to identify the frequency of workplace barriers, and from trial baseline questionnaires (e.
Objective: The aim of the study was to establish whether the Rheumatoid Arthritis Work Instability Scale (RA-WIS), in its current form, is applicable for use with employed people with fibromyalgia (FM) to identify the risk of work disability and need for work rehabilitation.
Methods: Content validity was first investigated using cognitive debriefing interviews. Participants completed a postal questionnaire.
Sphingomyelinase D (SMase D), the main toxic component of Loxosceles venom, has a well-documented role on dermonecrotic lesion triggered by envenomation with these species; however, the intracellular mechanisms involved in this event are still poorly known. Through differential transcriptomics of human keratinocytes treated with L. laeta or L.

Introduction: New concerns have been raised by the US Food and Drug Administration regarding breast implant capsule-associated squamous cell carcinoma (BICA-SCC) but very little is known about this emerging topic. To gain a better understanding of the disease, a systematic review and individual patient data meta-analysis of patients with BICA-SCC were performed.
Methods: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane were searched from inception to 26th February 2023 for studies including patients with BICA-SCC.
Thoracoabdominal (TA) flaps are a good option for primary closure of small and medium defects after mastectomy for locally advanced breast tumours. Although they have a higher rate of necrosis than myocutaneous flaps, they can be easily performed by breast surgeons. Few studies on this procedure have been reported, and we have been unable to identify any prior publications reporting breast reconstruction with TA flaps.

Hepatic involvement is an increasingly recognized concern. Steatosis and elevated transaminases are commonly observed in this population, but case reports have also described hepatic adenoma.

Joint pain is associated with functional difficulties and may lead to work instability. The aims of this systematic review are to identify: the impact of OA on work participation; and biopsychosocial and work-related factors associated with absenteeism, presenteeism, work transitions, work impairment, work accommodations, and premature work loss.

Methods: The three scales were forward translated and reviewed by an expert panel prior to cognitive debriefing interviews. Participants completed a postal questionnaire.
In chickens, avian metapneumovirus (aMPV) causes the swollen head syndrome, a respiratory disease often associated with a reduction in egg production. The virus' epidemiology in East and Southeast Asia is poorly understood. An aMPV serological survey was conducted on broiler chicken farms of Hong Kong SAR to assess the seroprevalence of aMPV in unvaccinated batches and the serological status of vaccinated batches.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study of all adult refugees resettling in a region of Connecticut, U.S.
Introduction: Rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMD) impact on work participation. The aims of this study were to: examine work limitations of working people with: rheumatoid arthritis, axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), osteoarthritis, or fibromyalgia using the Workplace Activity Limitations Scale (WALS, a measure of presenteeism); and identify personal, functioning and disability, and work contextual factors associated with presenteeism.
Methods: Secondary analysis was conducted of a cross-sectional survey including work outcome measures (WORK-PROM study).
Objectives: The aims were to validate a British English version of the Workplace Activity Limitations Scale (WALS) linguistically, then test this psychometrically in RA, axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), OA and FM.
Methods: The WALS was forward translated, reviewed by an expert panel, and cognitive debriefing interviews were conducted. Participants completed a postal questionnaire booklet.

Background: Working people with osteoarthritis (OA) can experience difficulties at work due to pain and activity limitation.
Objective: To explore the impact of biopsychosocial factors on work participation in employed people with OA.
Methods: An explorative, qualitative, semi-structured one-to-one telephone interview study.
There are high levels of work disability, absenteeism (sick leave) and presenteeism (reduced productivity) amongst people with inflammatory arthritis. WORKWELL is a multi-centre, randomised controlled trial of job retention vocational rehabilitation for employed people with inflammatory arthritis. The trial tested the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of the WORKWELL programme compared to the receipt of written self-help information only.

Vocational rehabilitation is delivered by health service occupational therapists, who have received additional training in providing this Workwell intervention. A process evaluation will be undertaken alongside the main trial to investigate implementation fidelity; understand key stakeholders' perspectives of the intervention and the social and structural context in which the intervention is provided; and explore issues related to future implementation in clinical practice.

The impact of antenatal influenza (flu) and pertussis (Tdap) vaccines was also studied. We enrolled pregnant women vaccinated with the Moderna (mRNA-1273) vaccine during pregnancy and collected maternal plasma (MP) and neonatal cord blood (CB) during delivery to determine the SBR via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA).

We hypothesized that a higher differential mass (ratio of flap mass to mastectomy mass) would be associated with greater satisfaction with reconstruction.
Methods: In this retrospective study, patients who underwent autologous breast reconstruction between 2015 and 2020 with a deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap completed the BREAST-Q survey.
MARCH1 and MARCH8 are ubiquitin ligases that control the expression and trafficking of critical immunoreceptors. Understanding of their function is hampered by three major knowledge gaps: (i) it is unclear which cell types utilize these ligases; (ii) their level of redundancy is unknown; and (iii) most of their putative substrates have been described in cell lines, often overexpressing MARCH1 or MARCH8, and it is unclear which substrates are regulated by either ligase . Here we address these questions by systematically analyzing the immune cell repertoire of MARCH1- or MARCH8-deficient mice, and applying unbiased proteomic profiling of the plasma membrane of primary cells to identify MARCH1 and MARCH8 substrates.
