Objectives: To determine the clinical presentation, imaging features and outcomes of children with adenoid hypertrophy in our setting.

Design: A retrospective study.

Setting: The paediatric clinic of a private hospital in Enugu.

PROMETHAZINE-INDUCED THROMBOPHLEBITIS IN A NIGERIAN MAN: A CASE REPORT.

Introduction: Promethazine is a phenothiazine derivative that possesses antihistamine, anti-dopaminergic and anticholinergic properties. It is commonly used to treat motion sickness, allergic conditions, nausea and vomiting, in addition to its use as a sedative. Promethazine has vesicant properties and is highly caustic to the intima of blood vessels and surrounding tissues.

Pattern of presentation of paediatric endocrine disorders in a Nigerian tertiary institution: an 11-year survey.

Objectives: There is need to generate epidemiological data regarding paediatric endocrine disorders (PEDs) in sub-Saharan Africa, since little attention has been given endocrine disorders in children in this sub-region over the years. The aim of the study was to determine the sociodemographic characteristics of children with endocrine disorders in our paediatric endocrinology clinic, as well as the pattern of presentation of these disorders.

Methods: This study included paediatric patients who presented to the endocrine clinic over an 11-year period.
