Background Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation and joint damage. Among the therapeutic agents, methotrexate remains a cornerstone of initial treatment. Complete blood count (CBC)-derived biomarkers such as neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), and systemic immune response index (SIRI) have been extensively studied in various diseases.

To compare ET-1, IL-33, the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), eosinophil-lymphocyte ratio (ELR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), eosinophil-basophil ratio (EBR), systemic immune inflammation index (SII), and system inflammation response index (SIRI) in patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) and are antihistamine sensitive (AHS), antihistamine resistant (AHR), omalizumab sensitive (OmS), and omalizumab resistant (OmR). A prospective observational study enrolled 68 consecutive patients with CSU diagnosed and managed according to the dermatology section of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), the European Union funded network of excellence, the Global Allergy and Asthma European Network (GA2LEN), the European Dermatology Forum (EDF), and the World Allergy Organization guidelines.

Recent studies have confirmed close interaction between the immune and skeletal systems. In addition, various orthodontic appliances including fixed systems affect the sublingual microbial composition, and the likelihood of developing inflammatory reactions of the gums is high, especially early in the treatment period.

Optimal settings to apply RFA in pancreatic cancer, in which the advanced stage of the tumor at the diagnosis makes various therapeutic approaches fail, are still demanding. We report the case of a patient with unresectable pancreatic cancer in which 3 repetitive RFA has been applied over a period of 3 months.

This has necessitated a rapid development of "allergy" as a specialist area. However, as allergy is so common and, for most, relatively easy to diagnose and control, all clinicians need to have basic knowledge and competence to manage mild disease and recognize when referral is required.

The consequence is sub-optimal outcomes, particularly concerning for long-term relapsing/remitting conditions such as allergic diseases. In response, there has been a proliferation of published guidelines which systematically review evidence for the gold-standard management of most allergic disorders.

There is a growing body of evidence suggesting that the elderly population is characterized by chronic low-grade inflammation ("inflammaging"). Age associated inflammation can be caused by a decrease in the level of IL-10, one of the anti-inflammatory cytokines during aging. The binding of IL-10 to adipose tissue is very important.

Intervening in tumor microenvironment by locoregional treatment options can be beneficial for patients. We aimed to study changes in serum cytokines levels due to local disturbance of tumor microenvironment after radiofrequency thermal ablation procedure compare to liver resection in patients with primary and metastatic liver cancer.

Evidence regarding association between inflammatory factors in patients with ITP who are refractory to first line treatment is limited. The purpose of our study was to investigate the diagnostic value of NLR, PLR, and PMR, dNLR, and SII in ITP patients who were refractory for the first line treatment and had splenectomy as a second-line therapy.

Few studies show prognostic value of different inflammatory markers, such as lymphocyte and monocyte count, neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and others in some types of blood cancers. There is further need to investigate easy measurable diagnostic and prognostic novel biomarkers in hematologic malignancies.

Transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) represents an alternative therapeutic approach for some of these patients. However, it is not a curative measure, and an additional therapy is required to eradicate the residual disease.

Different types of cancers may arise from the inflamed regions of the body. It has been widely accepted that inflammation is a key mediator of pancreatic cancer development. Best indicators of systemic immunity include inflammation-associated cell enumeration easily accessible from a complete blood cell (CBC) count.

Omalizumab resistance (OmR) in chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) remains poorly understood. To identify clinical and laboratory attributes of patients that may be predictive of OmR in CSU. We conducted a retrospective observational study by using an electronic patient record data base of patients with severe CSU refractory to a fourfold H-antihistamine dose, treated with omalizumab 300 mg every 4 weeks for at least 24 weeks.

The liver is the most prevalent site of metastasis from CRC. Currently, the gold-standard treatment for colorectal liver metastases (CLMs) is surgical resection.

These tumours are characterized by the proliferation of malignant cells, generalised immunosuppression and chronic inflammation marked with an increase in inflammatory markers as a neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and overexpression of CD4+CD39+ on T lymphocytes. The studies have outlined immunomodulatory changes in liver cancer patients as the plausible explanation for the better survival.

Case report presents the successful treatment of unresectable liver metastasis in a patient with colon cancer. A 44-year-old male underwent right hemicolectomy followed by capecitabine for a moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of the colon. 2 years later, a liver metastatic lesion was detected and had increased in size despite chemotherapy with capecitabine plus oxaliplatin (XELOX).

Chronic inflammation of joints of autoimmune origin - rheumatoid arthritis - develops due to deplorable coincidence of genetic, immune and environmental factors. Th17 cells are considered as the main effector cells in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis. Analysis of many reports clarify positive correlation between the frequencies of circulating Th17 cells, serum levels of IL-17A and IL-23, synovial IL-17 and disease activity.
