Article Synopsis
  • Caveolin-1 (CAV-1) is a protein that inhibits various kinases and regulates inflammation, and its downregulation in psoriatic skin cells increases inflammation and cell growth.
  • A study found that a peptide derived from CAV-1, called sB, was more effective than other modified peptides at reducing symptoms in a psoriasis model, improving skin condition and reducing immune cell infiltration.
  • sB not only suppressed signaling pathways associated with inflammation but also inhibited new blood vessel formation, making it a promising therapeutic option for treating psoriasis.

  • * A study of 79 PPP patients found that their neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) was notably higher compared to healthy individuals, indicating a potential link between PPP and focal infections.
  • * The research suggests that an NLR of 2.28 or above could serve as a biomarker for identifying focal infections in PPP patients, with NLR levels dropping after symptom improvement.

TEN occurrence after bone marrow transplantation (BMT) is a well-known phenomenon; however, to date, only a few cases have been reported in the published work. Here, we describe the case of a 53-year-old woman who experienced TEN after undergoing allogenic BMT for malignant lymphoma.

Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) is an anthracycline anticancer agent used in ovarian cancer and a form of doxorubicin enclosed in pegylated liposomes. There are only a few reports on intertrigo-like eruptions caused by PLD. We describe the first case of severe bullous erythema, including intertrigo-like eruptions with angioedema, induced by PLD in Japan.
