Parenting style and intergenerational transmission have been extensively studied in parent-child relationships. As dogs are increasingly recognized as integral members of the family system, there is a growing interest in understanding how parenting behaviors directed towards dogs can also influence a dog's behaviors. However, the reasons why people adopt certain parenting behaviors towards dogs remain relatively unknown.

Companion animals confer both risk and benefits to mental health yet the potential underpinning mechanisms which explain such impacts are not fully understood. This study aimed to gather an in-depth understanding of young adults' lived experience of how their companion dogs and cats may impact their mental health symptoms and the perceived mechanisms which explain their effects.

The present study demonstrates for the first time that tumor-associated dendritic cells (TADCs) are a source of resistin, which is responsible for increasing lung cancer epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition. In addition, large amounts of resistin in the condition medium (CM) of TADCs increase cell migration and invasion, as well as the osteolytic bone metastatic properties of lung cancer cells.
