Statin therapy enhances survival in unresectable stage III lung squamous cell carcinoma with concurrent chemoradiotherapy.

To evaluate the impact of statin use on overall survival and lung cancer-specific survival in patients with unresectable stage III lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) undergoing standard concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). Using data from the Taiwan Cancer Registry Database and National Health Insurance Research Database, this propensity score matching cohort study analyzed the influence of statin use during CCRT on overall survival and lung cancer-specific survival. Statin use during CCRT was independently associated with significant improvements in overall survival and lung cancer-specific survival.

Robust control for a biaxial servo with time delay system based on adaptive tuning technique.

A robust control method for synchronizing a biaxial servo system motion is proposed in this paper. A new network based cross-coupled control and adaptive tuning techniques are used together to cancel out the skew error. The conventional fixed gain PID cross-coupled controller (CCC) is replaced with the adaptive cross-coupled controller (ACCC) in the proposed control scheme to maintain biaxial servo system synchronization motion.

Neuro-fuzzy speed control of traveling-wave type ultrasonic motor drive using frequency and phase modulation.

This paper presents a Fuzzy Neural Network (FNN) control system for a traveling-wave ultrasonic motor (TWUSM) driven by a dual mode modulation non-resonant driving circuit. First, the motor configuration and the proposed driving circuit of a TWUSM are introduced. To drive a TWUSM effectively, a novel driving circuit, that simultaneously employs both the driving frequency and phase modulation control scheme, is proposed to provide two-phase balance voltage for a TWUSM.
