Purpose: The presence of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer (BC) cells has been linked to worse prognosis and may influence response to systemic treatment. We explored the effect of EMT in tumor samples of patients with metastatic BC on disease-free interval and overall survival in those patients receiving eribulin or cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors (CDK4/6i).
Materials And Methods: Key inclusion criteria included available archived primary BC tissue and, where available, matched metastatic biopsy.
Background: Parents of children and adolescents with chronic conditions have an increased risk of stress-related mental health problems, and reduced quality of life. Third wave Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions have been shown to reduce stress in this parent population. Studies demonstrate that this efficacy endures when these therapies are delivered online.

In this paper, we (university researchers, student co-researchers, school staff), present the engagement framework that has been critical to the project's development and planned implementation.
Methods: An iterative co-design approach grounded in a participatory research approach is currently being adopted.
Background: Among ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients, those with no standard modifiable risk factors (SMuRFs: hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia, and smoking) have higher 30-day mortality than those with SMuRFs. Differences in coronary lesion characteristics remain unclear.
Methods: Data from STEMI patients aged ≤60 years from the Asia Pacific Evaluation of Cardiovascular Therapies Network (Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam) was retrospectively analysed.

Study Objective: To assess the knowledge of ovulation and menstruation of adolescent females in Western Australia.
Methods: A validated adolescent ovulatory menstrual health literacy questionnaire was used in a cross-sectional study, which included an open-response question inviting participants' reflections.
Results: Participants (n = 297) were from two single sex and seven coeducational schools of varied socio-educational advantage.
ObjectiveThis study aimed to compare the relative physical recovery and symptoms after SARS-CoV-2 infection between groups confirmed positive or negative to early strains of COVID-19.MethodsA prospective, longitudinal cohort study compared outcomes of metropolitan adults polymerase chain reaction-tested for COVID-19 between March and November 2020 in Western Australia. Control matching was attempted: inpatients (gender, age) and ambulatory clinic (gender, age, asthma, chronic pulmonary disease).

However, the antitumor potency of CDT is largely limited by the high glutathione (GSH) concentration and low catalytic efficiency in the tumor sites. The combination of CDT with chemotherapy provides a promising strategy to overcome these limitations.

Aims: To investigate short-term functional and quality of life (QoL) outcomes after the PDW 10-week programme in a pilot study of individuals with early Parkinson Disease (PD).
Methods: Twenty individuals with PD (Hoehn & Yahr 1-3) attending a hospital outpatient clinic were recruited into the PDW 10-week programme, comprising a weekly 1-h supervised class complemented by an individualised daily home exercise programme.
Background: Pharmacists are trusted and accessible healthcare professionals who are well-positioned to deliver brief health behaviour change technique-based interventions for chronic health conditions. However, little is known about the factors influencing pharmacists' use of behaviour change techniques and their capacity to deliver these interventions within community pharmacy.
Objectives: This study employed the COM-B model to explore the factors that explain pharmacists' delivery of behaviour change techniques in practice.
Introduction: Improving physical activity (PA) and healthy eating is critical for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Behaviour change programmes delivered in sporting clubs can engage men in health behaviour change, but are rarely sustained or scaled-up post trial. Following the success of pilot studies of the Australian Fans in Training (Aussie-FIT) programme, a hybrid effectiveness-implementation trial protocol was developed.

The antibody screen, one component of PTT, commonly includes a 10-20 min incubation. The primary aim of this study was to determine if this period can be reduced when using current immunohematology methodologies.

We assess whether proportions of T-cell populations are reliable predictors of subclinical atherosclerosis and/or reflect the burden of HCMV in healthy adults and renal transplant recipients (RTR). Samples were collected from healthy adults and RTR at baseline (T0) and after 32 (24-40) months (T1).

There is a high prevalence of ovulatory menstrual (OM) dysfunctions among adolescents, and their menstrual health literacy is poor. The OM cycle can be used as a personal health monitor provided that the skills to understand it are correctly taught. My Vital Cycles, a holistic school-based OM health literacy program, was trialed with a Grade 9 cohort in one single-sex school in Western Australia using the Health Promoting School framework.

Despite current guidelines recommending that chemotherapy is dosed according to actual body weight, reviews have shown patients with obesity often receive a capped chemotherapy dose. The latter is commonly undertaken as clinicians have concerns that adverse events are more frequent if full doses are administered.

This study aimed to face validate an adolescent ovulatory menstrual (OM) health literacy questionnaire and to measure reliability by test-retest. Draft questions from an earlier content validation were adjusted following face validity assessment with 28 adolescents. Test-retest reliability was assessed by 89 adolescents aged 14-18 years over a two-week period across four school sites.

Many studies on the relationship between alcohol and health outcome focus primarily on average consumption over time and do not consider how heavy per-occasion drinking may influence apparent relationships. Improved methods concerning the most recent drinking occasion are essential to inform the extent of alcohol-related health problems. We aimed to develop a user-friendly and readily replicable computational model that predicts: (i) an individual's probability of consuming alcohol ≥2, 3, 4… drinks; and (ii) the total number of days during which consumption is ≥2, 3, 4… drinks over a specified period.

We aimed to assess for the impact of immune biomarkers on BC outcome in a group of luminal B patients with archived tissue and annotated clinical information. Patients with early breast cancer (EBC) treated in a single institution over a 14-year period, with prospectively collected data were included.

As the expression and role of PEDF in BC bone metastases is unknown, we aimed to characterise PEDF in primary and metastatic BC. Subcellular PEDF localisation was semi-quantitatively analysed via immunohistochemistry in patient-matched, archived formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded primary BC and liver, lung, and decalcified bone metastases specimens.

Our aims were to (i) determine the operational requirements to assemble an international individual patient dataset and validate the processes of governance, data quality and data security, and subsequently (ii) describe the characteristics and outcomes for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients undergoing PCI in the ASPECT registry.
Methods: Seven (7) ASPECT members were approached to provide a harmonised anonymised dataset from their local registry.
Background: Diabetes is associated with poorer outcomes and increased complication rates in STEMI patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Data are notably lacking in the Asia-Pacific region. We report the overall association of Diabetes with clinical characteristics and outcomes in STEMI patients undergoing PCI across the Asia-Pacific, with a particular focus on regional differences.
