Enantioselective transfer aminoallylation: synthesis of optically active homoallylic primary amines.

A camphorquinone-derived chiral homoallylic amine was found to react with various aldehydes via imine formation and asymmetric 2-azonia-Cope rearrangement to give optically active homoallylic primary amines. A practical level of enantioselectivity with high functional group tolerance has been attained in this transformation.

Simultaneous determination of 6beta-hydroxycortisol and cortisol in human urine by liquid chromatography with ultraviolet absorbance detection for phenotyping the CYP3A activity determined by the cortisol 6beta-hydroxylation clearance.

This study describes a high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method for the simultaneous determination of 6beta-hydroxycortisol (6beta-OHF) and cortisol in human urine using either methylprednisolone or beclomethasone as internal standard. Separation was achieved on a reversed-phase phenyl column by a gradient elution of 0.05 M KH(2)PO(4)-0.

Evidence for the validity of cortisol 6 beta-hydroxylation clearance as a new index for in vivo cytochrome P450 3A phenotyping in humans.

This study uses stable isotope methodology to evaluate the validity of 6beta-hydroxylation clearance of endogenous cortisol as a new index for in vivo CYP3A phenotyping in humans. Important factors contradictory to the use of a conventional index of urinary ratio of 6beta-hydroxycortisol to cortisol (6beta-OHF/F) to evaluate in vivo CYP3A activity are also discussed. Stable isotopically labeled cortisol (3-5 mg) was orally administered to three healthy adult subjects to accurately determine the fractional metabolic clearance specific for the 6beta-hydroxylation of cortisol.

[An evaluation of oral health promotion programs at the work site].

The purpose of this study was to evaluate oral health promotion activities at the work site, for three years. The subjects were 486 workers (men, 340; women, 146) and the mean age was 27.0.

[Development and application of an Internet-based educational system to share pharmaceutical case reports between pharmacists].

For pharmacists to enhance skill of pharmaceutical cares, it is necessary to learn many instructive clinical cases, which include drug-related incidences and checks of medication errors by pharmacists. However, these cases tend to be kept in each facility and there is no access to the cases for outside pharmacists. Therefore, we aimed to develop an internet-based educational system to gather such cases, append educational commentaries by university staffs, and share them between pharmacists.
