A case of hyperammonemia occurring during treatment of metastatic renal cell carcinoma with axitinib.

Introduction: Although the incidence of hyperammonemia as an adverse event of tyrosine kinase inhibitors is quite low, several cases of tyrosine kinase inhibitor associated hyperammonemia have been reported. We report a case of hyperammonemia, that occurred during combined treatment with axitinib and pembrolizumab in a metastatic renal cell carcinoma patient without hepatic disorder or liver metastases.

Case Presentation: A 77-year-old Japanese woman was diagnosed with metastatic renal cell carcinoma and was treated with pembrolizumab and axitinib.

[A Cohort Study on the Prognosis of Patients with Urothelial Carcinoma Using the Miyazaki Urological Cancer Database (MUCD)].

Miyazaki Urological Cancer Database (MUCD) is a web-based database containing background, treatment, and prognosis of patients with prostate, renal, and urothelial cancers diagnosed in Miyazaki. We entered information on patients diagnosed with urothelial carcinoma from 2014 to 2018 at 4 of the 17 facilities that diagnose urothelial carcinoma in Miyazaki Prefecture. We analyzed the overall survival for bladder cancer and upper urinary tract cancer, and examined its correlation with the presence of symptoms, urine cytology, and clinical TNM classification.

Surveillance of urachal abscess in the Kyushu-Okinawa area of Japan.

Objective: To report a multicenter experience with the management of urachal abscess treatment in Japan.

Methods: This was a retrospective study of 263 cases of urachal abscess managed at 12 university hospitals in the Kyushu-Okinawa region over a 10-year period. Age, sex, abscess size, clinical symptoms, type of urachal remnants, and treatment were collected and analyzed.

A novel case presenting with an unusual ureteral diverticular lesion similar to adenomyomatous hyperplasia of the gallbladder.

We present the first case of an unusual ureteral diverticular lesion demonstrating similarities to adenomyomatous hyperplasia of the gallbladder. A 68-year-old asymptomatic Japanese man with high prostate-specific antigen levels was clinically evaluated. Left hydronephrosis and benign prostatic hyperplasia were detected.

Expression of human kallikrein 1-related peptidase 4 (KLK4) and MET phosphorylation in prostate cancer tissue: immunohistochemical analysis.

Resistance to or relapse after androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) remains a significant problem in patients with prostate cancer. Several studies have hypothesized that the overexpression of MET and the activating signaling axis in prostate cancer cells are associated with castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). On the other hand, the expression of human kallikrein 1-related peptidase (KLK) 4, which activates plasma HGF activator zymogen, in prostate cancer patients with bone metastasis or advanced stage has also been reported.

Urinary bladder pyogenic granuloma: a case report.

Introduction: Although more than 100 cases of hemangioma of the urinary bladder have been reported, capillary-type hemangiomas of the bladder are rare. Pyogenic granulomas, which are common tumor-like vascular lesions of the skin and oral mucous membranes, reveal histopathological findings similar to capillary-type hemangiomas and are differentiated from ordinary hemangiomas by clinical features and etiologic factors. Little is known regarding the occurrence of pyogenic granulomas in the urinary bladder.
