These complex clinical scenarios pose challenges to clinicians in providing the right support for diagnosis and treatment. A group of Italian cardiologists, endocrinologists, and gynecologists conducted a survey among expert colleagues to assess consensus on controversial issues and best practices for screening and treating peri- and postmenopausal women.

Methods: A cross-sectional nationwide study using a web-based survey was conducted from June to August 2021. The study population consisted of 342 obstetricians/gynecologists (OB/GYNs), members of the Italian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and heads of MCUs.
The availability of a COVID-19 vaccine has raised the issue of its compatibility with breastfeeding. Consequently, the Italian Society of Neonatology (SIN), the Italian Society of Pediatrics (SIP), the Italian Society of Perinatal Medicine (SIMP), the Italian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (SIGO), the Italian Association of Hospital Obstetricians-Gynecologists (AOGOI) and the Italian Society of Infectious and Tropical Diseases (SIMIT) have made an ad hoc consensus statement. The Italian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SIGO), and the Multicenter Italian Trials in Ovarian cancer and gynecologic malignancies (MITO) promoted a national survey aiming to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on clinical activity of gynecologist oncologists and to assess the implementation of containment measures against COVID-19 diffusion.
Methods: The survey consisted of a self-administered, anonymous, online questionnaire.

Objective: Elderly heart failure patients are at high risk of events. Available studies and systematic reviews suggest that elderly patients benefit from disease management programmes (DMPs). However, important questions remain open, including the optimal follow-up intensity and duration and whether such interventions are cost-effective during long-term follow-up and in different healthcare systems.

Subjects: Women attending a network of first-level outpatient menopause clinics in Italy for general counselling about menopause or treatment of menopausal symptoms.
Methods: Cross-sectional study with no exclusion criteria.
Objective: To obtain data on correlates of climacteric symptoms in women around menopause attending menopause clinics in Italy.
Methods: Since 1997 a large cross sectional study has been conducted on the characteristics of women around menopause attending a network of first level menopause outpatient's clinics in Italy. A total of 66,501 (mean age 54.
Objective: To obtain data on sleep quality in women attending menopause clinics in Italy.
Design: A cross-sectional study was conducted on the sleep quality of postmenopausal women attending a network of first-level outpatient menopause clinics in Italy for general counseling about menopause or treatment of its symptoms. Eligible for the study were women observed consecutively during the study period with natural or spontaneous menopause.
We compared two models of assistance (telecardiology versus usual care) for patients discharged after acute coronary syndrome (ACS), in the assessment of angina. Two hundred patients were randomized into two groups at discharge for ACS: Group A to telecardiology and Group B to usual care. Early hospital readmission (in the first month) occurred in 16 patients (seven in Group A and nine in Group B).

Design: Sixty naturally postmenopausal women were randomly assigned to receive isoflavone or placebo tablets for 6 months. Endothelium-dependent vasodilatation was measured by brachial reactivity technique along with levels of plasma soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1), E-selectin, P-selectin and soluble thrombomodulin, von Willebrand factor, and tissue plasminogen activator.
The aim of this study was to compare dipyridamole and dobutamine stress echocardiography, performed early in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) to evaluate residual ischemia, viability, and prognosis. Fifty patients (mean age 55 +/- 9 years, 47 men, 3 women) with AMI, all treated with thrombolytic therapy, underwent standard dipyridamole and dobutamine tests, within the fifth day of the event. Wall motion score index and the 16 segments model were used to evaluate contractility.

400 patients aged 18 to 71 years took part in a multicentre noncomparative study designed to assess the clinical efficacy and tolerability of nimesulide in gynaecological inflammatory disease: adnexitis (72 patients), cervicitis (78 patients), endometritis (18 patients), myometritis (22 patients), and combined disorders (210 patients). All patients were treated with nimesulide 100mg twice daily in granular form for an average of 19.5 days.

This paper describes a sequential approach to the diagnosis of several manifestations of ischaemic heart disease--angina, unstable angina, post-infarction angina, pump failure, arrhythmias--, purposing a sequence of tests for each manifestation, starting from the simplest techniques to end with more complex investigations. Indications to coronary angiography and to medical or surgical therapy are also discussed.

In all patients with palpable nodules and in patients "at risk", thermography, mammography, xerography, echography and cytological examination by suction-needle, must be performed to rule out the existence of a "Minimal Breast Cancer". The methods of treatment preferred by the Authors, according to the different types of pathological changes, are the following: a) through follow-up or, alternatively, subcutaneous mastectomy when a "lobular carcinoma in situ"; b) subcutaneous mastectomy and axillary emptying when the diagnosis is found in "intraductal carcinoma"; c) mastectomy, performed according to Patey's technique, or removal of all the involved breast quadrant, axillary emptying and radiotherapy of the residual glandular parenchyma in case of ductal carcinoma or invasive lobular carcinoma less than 0.
