Differential microRNAs Expression during Cancer Development, and Chemoprevention by Natural Compounds: A Comprehensive Review.

MicroRNAs are short non-coding RNAs that inhibit gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. Abnormal microRNA expression has been associated with different human diseases, including cancer. Epigenetic changes, mutation, transcriptional deregulation, DNA copy number abnormalities, and defects in the biogenesis machinery play an important role in abnormal microRNA expression.
