The Biorepository and Integrative Genomics (BIG) Initiative in Tennessee has developed a pioneering resource to address gaps in genomic research by linking genomic, phenotypic, and environmental data from a diverse Mid-South population, including underrepresented groups. We analyzed 13,152 genomes from BIG and found significant genetic diversity, with 50% of participants inferred to have non-European or several types of admixed ancestry. Ancestry within the BIG cohort is stratified, with distinct geographic and demographic patterns, as African ancestry is more common in urban areas, while European ancestry is more common in suburban regions.

Methods: Electronic medical records from large tertiary HIV clinical centers in Botswana and Uganda were queried to identify LTNP children 0-18 years enrolled between June 2003 and May 2014 and extract demographic and nutritional parameters. Multivariate subdistribution hazard analyses were used to examine demographic factors and nutritional status in progression in the pre-antiretroviral therapy era.

This genome-wide high-sensitivity approach increases the molecular diagnosis for conditions with known disease-associated genes, enables better genotype-phenotype correlations, and facilitates variant allele detection allowing novel disease gene discovery.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from 63,127 patients referred for clinical chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) at Baylor Genetics laboratories, including 46,755 individuals tested using exon-targeted arrays, from 2007 to 2017.
