Aim: To examine emotional characteristics, especially personality profile, of patients with dystonia.
Material And Methods: Three hundred patients with dystonia were enrolled in the study. Control groups consisted of 50 healthy individuals and 62 patients with hemifacial spasm (GFS).
This paper is focused on the patterns of evoked vestibular myogenic potentials associated with the involvement of different segments of the the sacculo-neck reflex arc. Specifically, lesions of the vestibular analyzer at the receptor level, changes in the transmission system and at the muscular level are considered. Various patterns of evoked vestibular myogenic potentials characteristic of the disturbance of a given segments of the sacculo-neck reflex arc are described.

Parameters of quality of life (QOL) measured with the SF-36 questionnaire were studied in 91 patients with torticollis (ST) treated with botulinum toxin A. A control group comprised 50 subjects without ST. The QOL parameters were lower in patients compared to controls.

An aim of the study was to determine side-effects of disport, the botulinum toxin A (BTA), in the treatment of patients with spasmodic torticollis (ST) and blepharospasm (BS). More than 800 injections of BTA to patients with ST and 110 - to patients with BS have been performed for 6-years period. Side-effects are specified as follows: 1) autonomic reactions observed in women with increased anxiety and signs of autonomic dysfunction (47,5%) patients with ST), with most marked symptoms in the first injection and their further decreasing; 2) local side-effects related with errors in dose adjustment, injection technique (37,3% patients with ST and 59,5% patients with BS); 3) the smallest group of side-effects not related to the doctor's experience and adequate psychological preparation of the patient for manipulation (myasthenia-myopathia syndrome after the BTA therapy).
