Deformed previtellogenic oocytes, oocytes with incomplete cytoplasm vacuolization, and, 2-2.5 month prior to the spawning season, vitellogenic oocytes with sites of homogenized yolk have been revealed during oogenesis of barfin plaice Pleuronectes pinnifasciatus living in the Amursky Bay, one of the most polluted areas in Peter the Great Bay of the Sea of Japan. The early onset of yolk homogenization can point to the forthcoming resorption of oocytes in the plaice during the spawning season.

Previous investigators believed, that the plasmodia of Intoshia linei can affect all part of nemerteans body except the cephalic lobe. Our results indicate that in strongly infected worms mature plasmodia can settle inside of the cephalic region and form the large conglomerates. Common places of plasmodia localization in hosts are not only the tegument, connective tissue, gonads, muscles of body wall and proboscis, but also the nervous tissue.

Fibroendoscopy, otomicroscopy, rhinomanometry, CT of the paranasal sinuses, examination of mucociliary transport in the nasal cavity and ENT microflora, threshold tonal audiometry, impedance audiometry were performed in 20 patients with primary immunodeficiency. The patients were found to have paranasal inflammation, slow mucociliary transport, abnormal nasal breathing, acoustic tube dysfunction, chronic inflammation or exudation in the middle ear, conductive hipoacusis, etc. The findings confirm that ENT are target organs in primary immunodeficiency.

When the follow-up was over, the patients were divided into three groups by the findings at clinical examination. Group I patients (37%) recovered normal ophthalmic tone, group II patients (34%) remained hypertensive and group III (29%) developed an open angle primary glaucoma.

The patients who were transferred to this group were those whose hemodynamic parameters were lower than in the reference group. By the end of the follow-up period a negligible reduction of the hemodynamic parameters was observed in the 'hypertension' group and a statistically significant reduction in glaucoma patients.

Six series of experiments were performed on 45 isolated cadaver eyes. In the first series, the outflow facility of the human sclera was measured, in the others, five surgical techniques for stimulating the uveo-scleral outflow were evaluted with the help of a constant pressure perfusion technique. It was found that the scleral C-value was pressure independent and its average value was equal to 0.
