Purpose: To identify risk factors and effect modifiers associated with intraocular inflammation (IOI) following brolucizumab injection.

Methods: Our protocol was registered on PROSPERO (CRD42022382645). We searched six electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, CENTRAL, EMBASE, and Google Scholar) to retrieve all studies that reported the occurrence of IOI following brolucizumab.

The prevalence of pulmonary involvement in primary Sjögren´s syndrome (pSS) varies depending on investigation methods. Our study aimed to identify the contribution of the different means of investigation in the systematic screening for pulmonary involvement in pSS. This is a retrospective and descriptive study including medical records of pSS patients, who validated the 2016 American College of Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism classification criteria for pSS and who had undergone pulmonary assessment.

Given their substantial neutron capture cross-section, extreme hardness, and high chemical and thermal stability, boron-based materials are widely used as building blocks to protect against highly ionizing radiations such as gamma rays and neutrons. Indeed, uncontrolled nuclear radiation exposure can be highly hazardous to radiation workers and the public. In this sense, this work presents an extensive study and experimental evaluation of the nuclear shielding features of hexagonal-boron nitride (h-BN) based nanocomposite, where bisphenol-A based polybenzoxazine (BA-PBz) was used as matrix.

Management of the COVID-19 pandemic relies on molecular diagnostic methods supported by serological tools. Herein, we developed S-RBD- and N- based ELISA assays useful for infection rate surveillance as well as the follow-up of acquired protective immunity against SARS-CoV-2. ELISA assays were optimized using COVID-19 Tunisian patients' sera and prepandemic controls.

Numerous complications following COVID-19 vaccination has been reported in the literature, with an increasing body of evidence reporting vaccination-associated uveitis (VAU). In this systematic review, we searched six electronic databases for articles reporting the occurrence of VAU following COVID-19 vaccination. Data were synthesized with emphasis on patients' characteristics [age, gender], vaccination characteristics [type, dose], and outcome findings [type, nature, laterality, course, location, onset, underlying cause, and associated findings].

This work demonstrates a two-step gram-scale synthesis of presynthesized silver (Ag) nanoparticles impregnated with mesoporous TiO and evaluates their feasibility for wastewater treatment and hydrogen gas generation under natural sunlight. Paracetamol was chosen as the model pharmaceutical pollutant for evaluating photocatalytic performance. A systematic material analysis (morphology, chemical environment, optical bandgap energy) of the Ag/TiO photocatalyst powder was carried out, and the influence of material properties on the performance is discussed in detail.

In Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), involvement of the peripheral nervous system is frequent but its occurrence as an initial presentation is unusual. This case highlights the importance of this occurrence to permit an early diagnosis. Moreover, GPA started after a coronavirus disease 2019 infection and could have been induced by this.

Background: Multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating processes are sometimes difficult to differentiate from the neurological involvement in autoimmune diseases. Distinguishing multiple sclerosis from other lesions due to autoimmune diseases is crucial to avoid unsuitable or delayed treatments.

Methods: Charts of 6 patients diagnosed with mimicking multiple sclerosis between 1996 and 2014 were retrospectively assessed.

Various endocrine manifestations are commonly described in myotonic dystrophy (MD), including primary hypogonadism, diabetes mellitus, and thyroid and parathyroid dysfunction. We describe a 46-year-old woman with a family history of MD with her son. She was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia and required the implantation of a pacemaker.

Objective: To evaluate the impact of introduction of the WHO safe surgery checklist in the university hospital of Monastir over a period of five months.

Methods: We conducted a longitudinal study (before - after) with evaluation of five result indicators which were: percentage of surgical site infections, not prescribed antibioprophylaxis, unplanned return to the operating room, postoperative length of stay and postoperatively death.

Results: We identified 185 patients during the period and 323 patients after the introduction of the WHO checklist.

Aim: We describe the clinical profile of elderly with primary antiphospholipid syndrome (APS).

Methods: Charts of seven elderly patients diagnosed with APS between 1996 and 2012 were retrospectively assessed.

Results: The mean age at diagnosis was 77 ± 6 years (67-84 years).

Background: Non-ketotic hyperglycemia (NKHG) may increase the probability of seizures and movement disorders.

Methods: We describe a series of 14 elders admitted for seizures and movement disorders linked to NKHG.

Results: Twelve patients developed motor seizures and two others movement disorders.

Objective: To describe the most common reasons of admission of Tunisian patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and the outcomes of these hospitalisations.

Method: The charts of patients with SLE who were hospitalised at our Department of Internal Medicine during a 2-year period from January 2011 to December 2012 were retrospectively reviewed, and the demographic characteristics, clinical and laboratory features, as well as all comorbidities, were collected.

Results: There were 128 episodes of hospitalisation of 87 patients with SLE.

Activated proteinC resistance is a frequent prothrombotic abnormality. In most cases it is due to factorV Leiden mutation by nucleotide G1691A substitution. This recently described thrombophilic defect of activated proteinC resistance has been postulated to be implicated in the pathogenesis of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH).

Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a severe adverse cutaneous reaction characterized by an acute episode of sterile pustules over erythematous-edematous skin. The main triggering drugs are antibiotics, mainly beta-lactam and macrolides. Non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs may rarely be responsible.

Objective: To determine whether, in a selected high-risk population, Doppler velocimetry of the ductus venosus can improve the predictive capacity of increased nuchal translucency in the detection of major congenital heart defects in chromosomally normal fetuses at 11-14 weeks of gestation.

Methods: Ductus venosus Doppler ultrasound blood velocity waveforms were obtained prospectively at 11-14 weeks of gestation in 1040 consecutive singleton pregnancies. Waveforms were classified either as normal in the presence of a positive A-wave, or as abnormal if the A-wave was absent or negative.

Objectives: This study documents biological (haematocrit variations) and therapeutic parameters (salbutamol doses, volumes perfused) in two groups tocolysed with salbutamol, one with and the other without APO in order to define the risk factors linked to APO and to establish a standard protocol of management.

Study Design: This retrospective study includes data from 68 intravenous salbutamol tocolysis with four resulting APOs, carried out between January 1st, 1993 and December 31st, 1995.

Results: There was an excessive level of salbutamol administered over 48 h in the complicated APO-group (122.
