Objective: We conducted a systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to evaluate the efficacy of tranexamic acid (TXA) in reducing posttonsillectomy hemorrhage (PTH).

Data Sources: We searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, and CENTRAL for RCT comparing prophylactic TXA to control in patients undergoing tonsillectomy.

Review Methods: Per Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis guidelines, the databases were searched from date of inception through October 2023.

During the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, providing safe in-person schooling has been a dynamic process balancing evolving community disease burden, scientific information, and local regulatory requirements with the mandate for education. Considerations include the health risks of SARS-CoV-2 infection and its post-acute sequelae, the impact of remote learning or periods of quarantine on education and well-being of children, and the contribution of schools to viral circulation in the community. The risk for infections that may occur within schools is related to the incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infections within the local community.

Objectives: Forestier's disease or diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) is a common, yet underreported, disease affecting the elderly population. From an otolaryngologic perspective, DISH may manifest with dysphagia, dysphonia, or even dyspnea. The purpose of this study was to identify all published cases of dysphagia and other associated upper airway symptoms resulting from DISH in the last decade and to establish subsequently a management algorithm.

Introduction: Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumours (IMT) are rare benign neoplasms in the pediatric population, found most frequently in the lungs with rare reports of laryngeal involvement. The aim of this paper is to present a clinical case of laryngeal IMT followed by a systematic review on pediatric laryngeal IMT.

In this retrospective study, 44 patients received screw-retained full-arch acrylic resin provisional prostheses connected on 4 or 6 implants in the mandible or maxilla, respectively. With a mean follow-up of 17.6 months, 3 of 205 implants were lost and replaced successfully.
