This study presents a novel approach to examining the psychological impact of emerging technologies through the development of a Hype Cycle Model (HCM), utilizing sentiment analysis and topic modeling. Focusing on electric vehicles, we investigate how public sentiment-captured via social media comments-reflects the psychological effects of technology adoption and hype. Our model integrates both qualitative and quantitative analyses, utilizing sentiment scoring and topic modeling to explore thematic psychological trends.

Anther and microspore cultures are efficient methods for inducing haploids in plants. The microspore culture by chromosome-doubling method can produce double haploid lines, developing pure lines within the first or second generations. This study aimed to induce haploid plants in using the shed-microspore culture method.

Our case highlights the importance of follow-up. Previous meta-analysis has shown that patients with sub-centimetre nodules may have extended follow-up intervals before requiring intervention, unlike those with larger nodules exceeding 1 cm. However, referring to our case, we can see the importance of regular and dense follow-up.

We propose a multi-threaded algorithm that can improve the performance of geometric acoustic (GA)-based sound propagation algorithms in mobile devices. In general, sound propagation algorithms require high computational cost because they perform based on ray tracing algorithms. For this reason, it is difficult to operate sound propagation algorithms in mobile environments.

The importance of the IoT is increasing in every field of life, and it especially has a significant role in improving the efficiency of the healthcare system. Its demand further increased during COVID-19 to facilitate the patient remotely from their home digitally. Every time the COVID-19 patient visited the doctor for minor complications, it increased the risk of spreading the virus and the cost for the patient.

As an enveloped virus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) delivers its viral genome into host cells via fusion of the viral and cell membranes. Here, we show that ANO6/TMEM16F-mediated cell surface exposure of phosphatidylserine is critical for SARS-CoV-2 entry and that ANO6-selective inhibitors are effective against SARS-CoV-2 infections. Application of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike pseudotyped virus (SARS2-PsV) evokes a cytosolic Ca elevation and ANO6-dependent phosphatidylserine externalization in ACE2/TMPRSS2-positive mammalian cells.

In this study, experiments were conducted on 30 subjects by means of electrocardiogram (ECG) and electroencephalogram (EEG) methodologies as well as a money game to examine the effects of stress on creativity in business problem-solving. The study explained the relationship between creativity and human physiological response using the biopsychosocial model of challenge and threat. The subjects were asked to perform a cognitive mapping task.

Background: Lifestyle has been one of the central subjects of increasing research interest worldwide and acknowledged as part of the relevant factors of an individual's health status. The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease. The purpose of this study is to assess lifestyle status among high school and college students and to explore which sociodemographic variables have influenced such existing healthy lifestyle behaviors.

New viruses are continuously emerging and recently there have been many great concerns on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). Nanographene oxide (nanoGO) has received much attention and is widely investigated to be utilised in therapy for infectious diseases by viruses. Thus, antiviral activity of nanoGO was evaluated using the porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus (PEDV), bovine coronavirus (BCoV), and SARS-CoV-2, which are all Alpha- and Beta-coronavirus.

The dominant position of e-commerce is especially being articulated in the retailing industry once again due to several constraints that the world faces in the COVID-19 pandemic era. In this regard, this study explores the significant role of trust transfer (from offline to online) and the moderating effect of consumers' neurotic traits in the framework of trust-satisfaction-repurchase intention in the e-commerce context based on a survey with 406 Korean e-commerce consumers. Moreover, a prediction-oriented segmentation (POS) technique combined with structural equation models (SEM) was utilized to reveal consumers' probable hidden heterogeneous characteristics.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the link between body mass index (BMI) and mortality rates in individuals with bronchiectasis, using data from a large cohort in Korea.
  • It included 2,769 bronchiectasis patients and found that 5.1% were underweight, 40.4% were normal weight, 25.4% were overweight, and 29.3% were obese.
  • Results showed that underweight patients had higher mortality risk (2.60 times more likely) while obese patients had lower risk (0.71 times less likely), indicating that BMI is a significant predictor of mortality in bronchiectasis, especially related to respiratory issues.

Porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus (PEDV) is one of the major pathogens causing acute enteritis, which is characterised by vomiting and watery diarrhoea and commonly leads to high rates of mortality and morbidity in suckling piglets. Chitosan has been regarded as a promising natural disinfectant. In this study, the disinfectant effect and mammalian-cell toxicity of chitosan were evaluated against PEDV using Vero cells.

Swine abortion caused by viruses as well as bacteria has caused many economic losses in domestic farms over the years; however, bacterial abortion has not yet been studied in Korea. Several bacterial species were isolated from aborted fetuses (n = 103) for which the cause of death was not viral abortion. Among them, we focused on Aerococcus viridans, which had the highest positive rate within three provinces (Gangwon, Jeonnam and Gyeongnam).

Aims: Crosslinked hyaluronic acid (X-linked HA) is not suitable for making microneedles because of the low fluidity of X-linked HA hydrogel. Microneedles were fabricated using X-linked HA nanoparticles (X-linked HA-NPs) to utilize the sustained drug delivery capability of X-linked HA-NPs and to obtain the processability advantages of X-linked HA.

Method: The puncture performance of a microneedle array patch (MAP) made of crosslinked hyaluronic acid nanoparticles (X-linked HA-NP-MAP) was evaluated by insertion in vitro into porcine skin.
