The structural stability and reaction kinetics of anodes are essential factors for high-performance battery systems. Herein, the molybdenum sulfide selenide (MoSSe) nanosheets anchored on carbon tubes (MoSSe@CTs) are synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method combining with further selenization/calcination treatment. The unique tubular carbon skeletons expose abundant active sites for the well-dispersed growth of MoS ultrathin nanosheets on both sides of the tubular carbon skeleton.

Sodium ion batteries and capacitors have demonstrated their potential applications for next-generation low-cost energy storage devices. These devices's rate ability is determined by the fast sodium ion storage behavior in electrode materials. Herein, a defective TiO@reduced graphene oxide (M-TiO@rGO) self-supporting foam electrode is constructed via a facile MXene decomposition and graphene oxide self-assembling process.

Metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived composites of transition metal oxides and porous carbon show great potential for energy storage applications. Selenylation is an effective strategy to improve the electrochemical properties of electrode materials. A facile one-step derivation and selenylation of MOFs is proposed here to obtain CoSe nanoparticles embedded into an N-doped carbon skeleton material (CoSe/NC).
