Article Synopsis
  • Ion-conducting hydrogels have potential for monitoring plant growth but face issues like internal creep and low sensitivity in traditional designs.
  • The study introduces a new flexible hydrogel sensor made from polyvinyl alcohol and acrylamide, which shows significantly reduced creep and improved sensitivity due to its robust double network structure.
  • Enhancements with sodium chloride and AgNWs increase the sensor's conductivity and response times, making it suitable for long-term plant growth monitoring and establishing a basis for renewable biomass-based plant health systems.

An efficient lipase-catalyzed stereoselective transesterification reaction system was established for resolution of 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanol (MOPE) enantiomers. A series of lipases were tested and compared. The immobilized lipase Novozym 40086 is selected as the best choice.
