Rationale: Pheochromocytomas typically arise in the adrenal medulla, whereas ectopic pheochromocytomas/paragangliomas commonly occur near the abdominal aorta, bladder, mediastinum, and head. Diaphragmatic pheochromocytomas are exceedingly rare, and there is limited surgical experience with their treatment.
Patient Concerns: In Case A, the subject is a 45-year-old male, while in Case B, the subject is a 59-year-old female.
Background: Breast cancer (BC) is the prevailing malignant tumor, with its prevalence and death rate steadily rising over time. BC often does not show obvious symptoms in its early stages and is difficult to distinguish from benign breast disease. We aimed to find a distinct group of miRNAs utilizing serum as a non-invasive biomarker for early BC diagnosis.

Methods: A cross-sectional correlational study was conducted in two communities in Beijing with 486 older adults recruited from April to December 2022. Data were collected by a set of questionnaires.
The α-tubulin subtype, Tubulin α-1b chain (TUBA1B), has been shown to influence immune cell infiltration, cancer growth, and survival across various malignancies. However, a comprehensive study has not yet been undertaken examining the immunological and predictive effects of TUBA1B in a pan-carcinoma context. Using data from TCGA, GEO, and other databases, we analyzed TUBA1B expression across various carcinoma types using transcriptional profiling, prognostic implications, genetic and epigenetic alterations, methylation patterns, and immunological significance.

Background: With the increasing tendency of global ageing and the progression of 'healthy ageing', salutogenesis has been adopted as a framework of health promotion for older adults.
Design: An integrative review following PRISMA guidelines.
Background: Cytokine-induced apoptosis inhibitor 1 () is strictly associated with the incidence and progress of several malignant tumors, but its effect on invasive breast cancer (IBC) remains unclear. We directed to research the potential diagnostic and prognostic significance of in IBC.
Methods: The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and Tumor Immune Estimation Resource (TIMER) database were utilized to examine expression level in IBC and its relationship with clinicopathological features.
Objectives: To identify the role of frailty, social networks, and depression in self-neglect in an older Chinese population.
Methods: The study was conducted in 521 older adults recruited from four community healthcare centers in a district in Beijing, China. Participants were investigated by a set of questionnaires.
Gelsolin (GSN), a calcium-regulated actin-binding protein, is out of balance in various cancers. It can mediate cytoskeletal remodeling and regulate epithelial-mesenchymal conversion (EMT), but the studies on GSN function in pan-cancer are limited. We studied the transcription level, prognostic impact, diagnostic value, genetic, epigenetic modification, methylation level and immune significance of GSN in pan-cancer to fully comprehend the function of GSN in various malignancies based on multiple databases like The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO).

The transport behaviors of nanomaterials, in especial multifunctional nanohybrids have not been well disclosed until now. In this study, environmentally relevant conditions, including cation types, ionic strength and pH, were selected to investigate the transport and retention of graphene oxide-hematite (GO-FeO) nanohybrids and a photoaged product in saturated sandy columns. Results show that more hybridization of hematite led to decreased negative surface charge, while increased particle size and hydrophobicity of the nanohybrids, which depressed their transport according to extented Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek (XDLVO) theory.

Immunohistochemistry was performed to evaluate the expression of estrogen receptor (ER)-α, progesterone receptor (PR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (Her-2).

Tissue specimens from 195 patients with postmenopausal breast cancer were analyzed. ERβ expression levels were detected using immunohistochemical staining.
