Background: Patients infected with Hepatitis C virus (HCV) are recommended to receive treatment with direct-acting antiviral agents (DAAs), which have been certified to obtain a high sustained virological response (SVR). However, little is known about the benefits of successful anti-viral treatment to elderly patients with hepatic fibrosis. In this study, we aimed to assess degree of fibrosis in elderly patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC) treated with DAAs, and to evaluate the correlations between identified factors associated with these changes.

We designed and generated gradient photonic moiré lattice fields comprising three varying periodic moiré wavefields. Because of the common twisted angles between periodic triangular and hexagonal moiré wavefields, gradient patterns can be easily obtained through coherent superposition of hexagonal-triangular-hexagonal photonic moiré lattice fields. In addition, two specific twisted angles of Δα| and Δα| are proposed, which not only guarantee the periodicity of moiré fields but also provide an additional degree of freedom to control the structural arrangement of the gradient photonic moiré lattice fields.

Background: Hepatitis B virus-associated acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF) is an important type of liver failure in Asia. There is a direct relationship between HBV-ACLF and gastrointestinal barrier function. However, the nutritional status of HBV-ACLF patients has been poorly studied.

Objective: Toward the limited real-world data concerning the treatment response to brand direct-acting antiviral agents (DAAs) therapy, we proposed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of DAAs for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) in mainland China.

Methods: In this retrospective, single-center, cohort study, all HCV-infected adult patients treated with brand DAA drugs covered by Tianjin local health insurance (Apr 2018-Sept 2019) and responding to other specific inclusion criteria were recruited. The five available DAA regimens included sofosbuvir + ribavirin (SOF + RBV), elbasvir/grazoprevir (EBR/GZR), ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir/dasabuvir (OBV/PTV/r/DSV) ± RBV, daclatasvir + asunaprevir (DCV + ASV), and SOF + DCV ± RBV.

Background: The high price is a critical barrier of access to new direct-anting-antiviral (DAA) therapies for hepatitis C for both the patients and the society. Many countries continue to face the challenge of financing such expensive medicines. Such examples include both high-income and middle-income countries.

Objectives: To study the relationship between HBV genotypes and the efficacy of antiviral therapies.

Methods: HBV genotypes of 90 hepatitis B e antigen positive patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) were determined by PCR sandwich hybridization-ELISA technique. Forty-one patients with CHB were treated with lamivudine (100 mg/day) for 48 weeks and 49 patients with CHB were given alpha-interferon (3 MU/QOD) therapy for 48 weeks.

Objective: To observe the effect of combination treatment with Chaihu Droplet pill (CHDP) and Huoxiang Zhengqi Droplet pill (HZDP) in treating severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in early stage.

Methods: Twenty-two patients of SARS were randomly selected and paired according to such controlling factors as age, sex and profession into 11 couples. To them all symptomatic treatment was applied, combined CHDP and HZDP (CH-HZ) was given additionally to one of each couple randomly.
