Materials with high crystallographic symmetry are supposed to be good thermoelectrics because they have high valley degeneracy () and superb carrier mobility (μ). Binary GeSe crystallizes in a low-symmetry orthorhombic structure accompanying the stereoactive 4s lone pairs of Ge. Herein, we rationally modify GeSe into a high-symmetry rhombohedral structure by alloying with GeTe based on the valence-shell electron-pair repulsion theory.

A gas-free continuously regenerated-anion impurity removal device (CR-ARD) is described for ion chromatography (IC). It is a sandwiched configuration consisting of three channels. The central eluent channel is isolated from two outer regenerant channels by stacked anion exchange membranes (sAEM) and a bipolar membrane (BPM) plus stacked cation exchange membranes (BPM-sCEM), in which the anion exchange side of BPM is facing the central channel.

Ammonium bicarbonate (ABC) liposomes can only release drugs extracellularly while intracellular drug delivery could be more promising than extracellular release in chemotherapy. The purpose of this work was to endow the ABC liposomes with tumor-triggered targeting effect, to realize the intracellular drug release and retain the long circulation characteristics of the liposomes. The tumor-triggered targeting ABC (TT-ABC) liposomes were proposed to improve uptake of tumor cells owing to folate (FA) - specific binding.

Optical remote sensing is still one of the most attractive choices for obtaining leaf area index (LAI) information, but currently may be derived from remotely sensed data with limited accuracy. Effective leaf area index (LAIe) of montane evergreen broad-leaved forest in southwest Sichuan was inventoried and assessed in 83 sample field plots of 20 m x 20 m using different types of image processing techniques, including simple spectral band, simple spectral band ratios and principal component. Texture information was extracted by gray level co-occurrence matrices (GLCM) from different types of processing image.
