Mechanical properties and integrity of biodegradable Zn alloys during degradation holds significant importance. In this study, a Zn-Mg-Mn alloy with tensile strength of 414 MPa and an elongation of 26% was developed. The strength contributions of as-extruded Zn alloy from grain boundary strengthening, precipitation strengthening, and second phase strengthening.

Osteoporotic fractures seriously endanger the elderly quality of life, especially postmenopausal women. Currently, calcium phosphate cement (CPC) is one of the materials used for the treatment of osteoporotic fractures. This study intends to investigate the biological effects of lithium (Li)-doped CPC.

Promoting green urban development has become a common consensus to address environmental pollution and ecological damage, but we know little about the measurement and drivers of urban green innovation efficiency (GIE). In this article, firstly, we established a framework for assessing urban green innovation efficiency through multidimensional data, then used the spatial econometric model to reveal the spatiotemporal evolutionary characteristics of urban GIE, and, finally, analyzed the influencing factors and spatial spillover effects of urban GIE. The results show the following: (1) The overall urban GIE in China was low and had significant spatial agglomeration, mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions with spatial locking characteristics, while the GIE of cities in undeveloped regions does not change much.

Purpose: We aimed to assess the global, regional, and national burdens of low back pain (LBP) from 1990 to 2019 by gender, age, and the sociodemographic index (SDI) from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2019 study.

Methods: The number of incident cases, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), age-standardized incidence rates, and age-standardized DALY rates during 1990-2019 were obtained from the GBD 2019 study. The estimated annual percentage changes (EAPCs) in the age-standardized incidence rates and age-standardized DALY rates were determined to measure the temporal trends of LBP.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a novel class of noncoding RNAs that play important roles in human diseases. However, the regulation of circRNAs in glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP) has not been reported. In this study, we performed high-throughput sequencing to identify altered circRNAs in the vertebrae from GIOP patients.

Background: There are few studies reporting the use of atlantoaxial pedicle screws and the long-term effects of C1-C2 posterior fusion in children. Our study is to investigate the initial results of C1-C2 pedicle screw fixation for pediatric atlantoaxial dislocation (AAD) and assessed spontaneous change of postoperative radiography after a long-term follow-up period.

Methods: Posterior pedicle screw fixations were performed in 21 pediatric patients with AAD.

Nucleus pulposus (NP) has been suggested to trigger an autoimmune response if exposed to the immune system, which plays a key role in neuropathic pain. Therefore, appropriate suppression of inflammation is a key factor for treating the radiculopathy caused by intervertebral disk (IVD) degeneration. Resveratrol, a key component of red wine, has been suggested to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties and .

This study was designed to explore the change of spinopelvic parameters after vertebral column decancellation (VCD) for the management of thoracolumbar kyphosis secondary to ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Forty-two AS patients including thirty-six males and six females with thoracolumbar kyphosis, who underwent VCD from April 2005 to June 2012 in our hospital, were retrospectively reviewed. A series of spinopelvic parameters including thoracic kyphosis (TK), lumbar lordosis (LL), sacral slope (SS), pelvic incidence (PI), pelvic tilt (PT) and sagittal vertical axis (SVA) measured on preoperative and postoperative free-standing radiographs were obtained and analyzed.

This study intended to investigate the safety and efficacy of microendoscopic discectomy system compared with anterior open approach in the treatment of odontoid fracture with cannulated screw internal fiation. Thirty-two patients (25 male and 7 female) were enrolled and randomly assigned to different treatments. 15 patients were treated with microendoscopic discectomy system (Group MED) and 17 patients were treated with anterior open approach (Group AOA).
