Adsorbed nitrate is ubiquitous in the atmosphere, and it can undergo photolysis to produce oxidizing active radicals. Nitrate photolysis may be coupled with the oxidation conversions of atmospheric gaseous pollutants. However, the processes involved remain poorly understood.

Heterogeneous aqueous reaction plays important roles in the enhanced formation of secondary aerosols during haze. However, its occurrence in haze episodes remains poorly understood. In this study, the trends in heterogeneous aqueous reaction in continuous haze episodes were investigated by an in-depth case analysis.

In this study, the concentrations of water soluble ions (WSI), organic carbon (OC), and elemental carbon (EC) of size-resolved (0.056-18μm) atmospheric aerosols were measured in July and August 2015 in Shanghai, China. Backward trajectory model and potential source contribution function (PSCF) model were used to identify the potential source distributions of size-resolved particles and PM-associated atmospheric inorganic and carbonaceous aerosols.

Surface silver atoms with upshifted d-orbitals are identified as the catalytically active sites in formaldehyde oxidation by correlating their activity with the number of surface silver atoms, and the degree of the d-orbital upshift governs the catalytic performance of the active sites.

Heterogeneous reactions of nitrogen oxides on the surface of aluminium oxide result in the formation of adsorbed nitrite and nitrate. However, little is known about the effects of other species on these heterogeneous reactions and their products. In this study, diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy (DRIFTS) was used to analyze the process of the heterogeneous reaction of NO2 on the surface of aluminium oxide particles in the presence of pre-adsorbed organic species (acetaldehyde, glyoxal and acetic acid) at 298 K and reveal the influence of these organic species on the formation of adsorbed nitrite and nitrate.

Renal hemorrhage is one of the most common and worrisome complications of post-percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). This study aimed at evaluating the safety, effectiveness of utilization of the absorbable hemostatic gauze cover renal tract for hemorrhage of post-PCNL. The prospective study including 188 patients with upper urinary tract calculi was carried out in the department of Urology at Linyi People's Hospital from November 2011 to September 2013.
