Both overt and covert narcissism are positively correlated with conspicuous consumption, which is considered to have the function of satisfying narcissists' dignity needs through showing their status. However, the two types of narcissism are related to different mental health outcomes, and the possible role of conspicuous consumption in these relations has not been explored in depth. Objective: To detect miR-143 expression in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cell lines and explore the role of miR-143 in regulating the adhesion ability of NPC cells.

Methods: Fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR was used to detect miR-143 expression levels in 5 NPC cell lines (CEN1, CNE2, HONE1, 5-8F, and 6-10B) and an immortalized human nasopharyngeal epithelial cell line (NP69). The retrovirus plasmid pMSCV-puro-miR-143 was constructed and the packaged retroviruses pMSCV-puro and pMSCV-puro-miR-143 were infected in 5-8F cells to establish a cell line with stable miR-143 overexpression, whose adhesion ability was tested with adhesion assay.

We have used classical electrospinning and subsequent thermal treatment to successfully fabricate hollow ZnO nanospheres. The hollow ZnO nanospheres were then used to study the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) dye and were proven to have excellent photocatalytic activity. The mechanism of formation of hollow ZnO nanospheres and the reason for the high photocatalytic activity were also investigated.

Carbon nanotubes and carbon nanobelts were obtained via single-needle electrospinning on a basis of water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion technique, respectively. The morphology of electrospun products can be controlled by controlling the temperature of the collector during the electrospinning process. The mechanism of fabricating PAN nanotubes and nanobelts by emulsion electrospinning is discussed in detail.
