Article Synopsis
  • - Marine actinomycetes, specifically from the Streptomyces genus, are valuable for discovering bioactive compounds due to their diverse habitats and unique ecological conditions, yet they remain underexplored.
  • - A new strain, SCSIO 75703, was isolated and identified as a novel species, Streptomyces sediminicola sp. nov., which possesses 25 gene clusters for producing secondary metabolites, demonstrating significant antibacterial potential.
  • - Seven bioactive compounds were identified, including strong antibacterial agents and ones with moderate activity against an enzyme related to glucose metabolism, highlighting the strain's potential for natural product research.

In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of was reported. The whole mitochondrial genome was 21,565bp in length with a typical mitochondrial genomic structure including 13 protein-coding genes, 23 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes and 1 control region (D-loop). Mitogenome base composition was biased toward A + T content, at 60.

A series of TiO(2)-Cu(2)O mixed oxides were prepared by the hydrolysis of titanium butoxide and reduction of copper acetate with hydrazine. These composite oxides were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), N(2) adsorption and UV-vis techniques. Photocatalytic degradation of dodecyl-benzenesulfonate (DBS) under visible irradiation was performed, and effects of composition of catalysts and reaction conditions were studied.
