Projections of future tropical cyclone frequency are uncertain, ranging from a slight increase to a considerable decrease according to climate models. Estimation of how much the Earth's surface temperature warms in response to greenhouse gas increase, quantified by effective climate sensitivity, is also uncertain. These two uncertainties have historically been studied independently as they concern different scales: One quantifies the extreme weather and the other the mean climate.

It has been found that the individuals with internet gaming disorder (IGD) who have low self-esteem and high depression exhibit an attenuated self-serving bias. However, the relationships among self-esteem, depression and self-serving bias are not clearly identified.

Despite extensive research on the impact of daily mean temperature (T) during the preseason period, the influence of diurnal temperature range (DTR) on vegetation photosynthetic phenology (i.e.

The currently used drugs currently are ineffective, and their mechanisms of action remain unclear. This study aims to investigate the nephroprotective effect of Improved-Nephropathy 1 Formula (N1F) in a rat model of unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) and explore the potential mechanisms of N1F-containing serum in treating TGF-ß1-induced human renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2).

This is known as the source-strength effect. The current study investigated the roles of automatic and controlled processing in context retrieval in false recognition that is demonstrated by the source-strength effect.

Background: The link between stress and Internet addiction (IA) has been confirmed. However, the mechanism underlying the correlation is poorly understood. Thus, the current study proposed a moderated mediation model to test the mediating role of anxiety and the moderating role of self-control (SC) in the link between stress and IA.

Despite the evidence that digital devices use may facilitate preschoolers' learning and development, their overuse/problematic use has become a global concern as the popularity and widespread use of digital devices. This scoping review aims to synthesize the empirical evidence to identify the status quo, influential factors, developmental outcomes, and models of overuse/problematic use in preschoolers.

CircRNA-itchy E3 ubiquitin protein ligase (circ-ITCH) was observed to be down-regulated in diabetic retinopathy and diabetic nephropathy, and overexpression of circ-ITCH could inhibit the processes of these diseases. However, the detailed physiological and pathological functions of circ-ITCH in wound healing of DFU remain undetermined.

An accurate orthopaedy is the key and challenge to the success of HTO. Therefore, we designed a calibratable patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) to assist surgery and evaluated its accuracy and clinical outcomes by comparing with conventional operation (CO).

The preliminary study showed that circ_AFF4 may promote osteogenesis via FNDC5/Irisin. Furthermore, the online prediction tool indicated the interaction of circ_AFF4, insulin-like growth factor-2 mRNA-binding protein 3 (IGF2BP3), FNDC5 and lysine (K)-specific demethylase 1 A (KDM1A).

We innovatively invented a new dressing system to reduce the occurrence of postoperative wound complications and improve the quality of life of patients after total hip arthroplasty.
Methods: A total of 120 patients who underwent primary unilateral total hip arthroplasty were enrolled in this study.
Purpose: We devised a novel dressing system to accelerate the recovery after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The purpose of this study was to assess the clinical outcomes and economic expenses of the new dressing system.
Methods: In this randomized and controlled trial, we enrolled 98 patients who underwent the first unilateral TKA between September 2020 and June 2021.
Background: Augmented reality and mixed reality have been used to help surgeons perform complex surgeries. With the development of technology, mixed reality (MR) technology has been used to improve the success rate of complex hip arthroplasty due to its unique advantages. At present, there are few reports on the application of MR technology in total knee arthroplasty.

Methods: A mouse aging model was induced by intraperitoneal injection of D-galactose (D-gal), and pathological changes in the hippocampal ultrastructure were observed by transmission electron microscopy. The activity of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) in brain tissues were evaluated with GSH-Px and MDA assay kits.
Missed chance is a powerful factor in shaping risk-taking behaviour. The abnormal risk-taking behaviour is an obvious feature of individuals with Internet gaming disorder (IGD). However, the relationship between the neural responses to missed chance and risk-taking behaviour in IGD individuals remains unclear.

Objective: To investigate the accuracy of split three-dimensional (3D) printing patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) in medial open-wedge high tibial osteotomy (MOWHTO) and its effectiveness in treating medial knee osteoarthritis.
Methods: Clinical data of 14 patients with medial knee osteoarthritis and treated with split 3D printing PSI-assisted MOWHTO between August 2019 and August 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 5 males and 9 females with an average age of 61 years (range, 43-68 years).
Objective: Over the past seven years, our team has designed a simulated operation combined with patient-specific instrumentation (SO-PSI) assisted supramalleolar osteotomy (SMOT) method and applied it in the clinic. This study aimed to evaluate the differences between SO-PSI technology and conventional operation (CO) technology for SMOT in preoperative planning, intraoperative application, and postoperative curative effect.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed SMOT data collected from our hospital between October 2014 and December 2018.
Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs), the common progenitor cells of adipocytes and osteoblasts, have been recognized as the key mediator during bone formation. Herein, our study aim to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying circular RNA (circRNA) AFF4 (circ_AFF4)-regulated BM-MSCs osteogenesis. BM-MSCs were characterized by FACS, ARS, and ALP staining.

Inorganic semiconductor-based microscale light-emitting diodes (micro-LEDs) have been widely considered the key solution to next-generation, ubiquitous lighting and display systems, with their efficiency, brightness, contrast, stability, and dynamic response superior to liquid crystal or organic-based counterparts. However, the reduction of micro-LED sizes leads to the deteriorated device performance and increased difficulties in manufacturing. Here, we report a tandem device scheme based on stacked red, green, and blue (RGB) micro-LEDs, for the realization of full-color lighting and displays.

Herein, a new patient-specific instrument (PSI) was developed that uses the superolateral rim of the acetabulum as a positioning marker to assist surgeons in adult DDH-THA.
Methods: From January 2017 to October 2018, 104 adult DDH patients were randomized to either the PSI group or conventional operation (CO) group, and further divided into eight subgroups by stratified random sampling using Crowe's classification.
Internet gaming disorder (IGD) is becoming a prevalent mental health concern around the world. However, the relationship among brain gray matter volume (GMV), emotion induced by decision-making and the level of reflection in IGD participants has not been fully elucidated to date. The current study aimed to explore this issue by combining a sequential decision task and voxel-based morphometry.

Additionally, self-serving assessments predominantly activate the subcortical-cortical midline structures (CMS) in healthy individuals. However, little is known about self-serving bias and its underlying neural correlates among individuals with Internet gaming disorder (IGD).
