Bimetallic alloys hold exceptional promise as candidate materials because they offer a diverse parameter space for optimizing electronic structures and catalytic sites. Herein, we fabricate ruthenium-cobalt alloy nanoparticles uniformly dispersed within hollow mesoporous carbon spheres (hcp-RuCo@C) via impregnation and pyrolysis strategies. The intriguing hollow mesopore structure of hcp-RuCo@C facilitates efficient contact between active sites and reactants, thereby accelerating hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) kinetics.

A high-performance and reusable nonnoble metal catalyst for catalyzing sodium borohydride (NaBH) hydrolysis to generate H is heralded as a nuclear material for the fast-growing hydrogen economy. Boron vacancy serves as a flexible defect site that can effectively regulate the catalytic hydrolysis performance. Herein, we construct a uniformly dispersed and boron vacancy-rich nonnoble metal CoB-FeB catalyst via the hard template method.

Microplastic (MP) ingestion by marine animals has been well documented, but less being known about pelagic squid. Jumbo squid supports the world's largest cephalopod fishery and plays an important ecological role in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. In this study, taken from the open sea of the Peruvian Exclusive Economic Zone were selected as research objects.
